One layer of Second Skin Damplifier Pro on most of the vehicle.
-
53 Hz is my note with this box.

Dual tinsel leads will drop less voltage... more useful power to the coil at high power levels. Average user... no real benefit. Motors are done... they are shipping to me now. We are building them to order here.
-
Technically FS will be lower even with light coil... as the suspension is much softer. So low frequency will be very strong. This design changed alot from when I first posted the motor as "NS-X"
-
At an equal power -- example 1500 watts -- you will be louder by at least 1 dB compared to Nightshade v.1 model. This coil is much lighter than v.1 model Nightshade but also has upgraded cooling features -- power handling is similar.
-
New spiders for Z v.2 series (optional dual leads available) + the coil (4-layer flat aluminum) : Final coil will look about the same but will be slightly different.
-
I am going to find a good clear coating and go with that... just to keep the part from tarnishing. The black motor / silver ring / black basket matches our amps
-
The small ones will do it for you -- shoot me an e-mail about getting one.
-
Color options is not in the cards... the powder coating shop is about 15 miles away. Can't really leave the shop each time someone orders a Z v.2 to custom coat them It would either be all aluminum or all a certain color - like black. Someone brought up a good point on SMD... the aluminum color matches the SAZ casing... black, silver, black.
-
I haven't been able to find a good place to anodize locally.
-
I like the aluminum color myself

The current model Nightshade is officially discontinued. We used the last brand new motor in stock today. This is how the Sundown Audio line will look soon : Z series v.2 = 1500-watt RMS model * ETA is 6-8 weeks Nightshade v.2 = 2000-watt RMS model * ETA is mid 2010 (maybe sooner) Both of these new drivers will feature several new technological advancements compared to the Nightshade v.1 to improve power handling and output per watt (efficiency). We will also be offering a spider option with double up tinsel leads for folks that like to run amps at 1/2 ohm daily. I won't release a whole bunch of details just yet. I will let the testing speak for itself when they are available. ----- Here is just a little bit of data from testing the initial Z 15" v.2 prototype motor (which lacks several improvements of the production model): 148.4 -- 1250 watts 150.1 -- 2020 watts 150.8 -- 2530 watts 152.5 -- 3980 watts 153.1 -- 5350 watts 153.2 -- 5570 watts This prototype has a gap that is a full 1.6mm wider than production... this means this motor is "weaker" than what production will be. I was calling this the "NS-X" For a little while... we went with a lighter coil to "take it down" to our 1500-watt driver. Make no mistake, though, it will take power well

I will have all the parts except frames for Z v.2 10s shortly... working on getting some frames for stock.

Search my screen name in the classified section on caraudio.com and you will find most of it... I have a few more things that need to be listed as well.

So we are bringing it back again. This is how it works. 1) You e-mail me with what you have ([email protected]) -- it MUST BE a working amplifier (no speakers, no blown amps, nothing else). 2) I tell you if I will accept this item and how much credit I will give for it. I base this on forum and e-bay resale values AND my own records of used item sales. If you are going to get offended by an offer then please don't contact me - I have *extensive* used item re-sale experience from the previous trade-in program so I am very familiar with what I can ACTUALLY get for used items. 3) You either accept or deny my offer... if you accept the offer you then ship the item in to be tested. As long as the item is as described the credit is now available -- any cash balance to get your new Sundown amp is now due. ONLY NEW amplifiers and woofers can be purchased with the trade credit, this does not applied to used, refurbished, or close-out items. Trade credit is applied towards the MAP price of the new Sundown product you want. 4) Once the balance is paid we will ship your product out. ----- USED ITEM POLICY: When we re-sell the used amplifiers there will be NO warranty beyond a no DOA guarantee. THAT IS IT. We will be testing every trade-in item to make sure it works but there is no further guarantee. The item must be tested in no more than 5 days after receiving it -- do not e-mail me 2 weeks later saying it was DOA. This has been a problem in the past... there are no exceptions. If you don't have the time or capability to test it within 5 days DO NOT BUY IT.

I get used amps in an out alot
-
Jake, can you spare any details? It seems scary loud from the vids. Such as ? We have alot of details. 160 @ 34 Hz is the best score so far.
-
We are likely running behind schedule of my end of November ETA... I am requiring a specific brand on capacitor in these amps that is not the standard part for this factory so it is taking longer to get them. I am requiring the same brand used in most of my SAZ and SAX amplifiers - this will result in far less problems related to low quality capacitors. My SAZ / SAX amps have been using this brand for years with VERY few problems.
-
Updated photo of the new board actually in the casing.
-
I am temporarily suspending the trade-in program. If we have a pending deal you are still good. I need to get the current used items I have sold before accepting any more. So... this may be back in a few months.
-
That could easily be your problem - send it in to me w/ your purchase invoice.

The v.1 Nightshade is still a nice sub !
