That's lame ? Make a list of manufacturers that cover 1 ohm rated amps ran at 1/2 ohm under warranty... I am pretty sure you will find this in almost every manufacturers warranty text : "This warranty does not cover improper installation, accidental damage, misuse, abuse, improper wiring, operation of unit outside of listed specifications, or any product that has been modified or repaired by anyone other than Sundown Audio." A warranty exists to cover manufacturers defects... not abuse damage.

I am getting enough sent in by air to cover the pre-orders... that should be pretty quick. My shipping company tells me around a week to my door. I will be shipping ALL of those out for folks that pre-ordered... the rest will follow in early to mid January.
-
Back in stock now with D2 and D4.
-
Once... gap is similar to an MT... IIRC.
-
Truck is, of course, late... but I have a tracking # of it being delivered to me. The "Overnight" service is going to get it to me Thursday... which is a little longer than overnight. Still going to try and stick to getting them all shipped by Friday! Will just have to work our butts off when they get here.

Make that 150.7 at Sean's House :
-
Z v.2 uses different coil, cone, and spiders... I'll have photos when they are ready.
-
Yes, cone and spider are equal to v.1 model -- these parts are very good so I'm not changing them. I will have double tinsel lead option for the v.2 Nightshade, though
-
I'm not done turning it up yet Best ever was 154.3 with the NS v.1
-
I've been looking for 30-45 minutes for my power clamp... no luck... so I cannot give power to SPL comparisons at this time. Simply comparing HU volume levels... with my HU sub control at -3 this is the results: MONSTER : 151.6 dB NS v.2 : 154.0 dB The NS may be seeing way more power due to reduced inductance... I have no way to know until I find my clamp. The Monster kept getting louder until the HU hit +6 as well where it did 155.1 dB. I will do more testing later... had an issue with the samples coil formers / coil leads being too short so I had to rig it up to work... one connection broke in my testing. I am ordering new coil samples with taller formers / taller coil leads for production and further testing. I will try to rig it up a better way to get more testing until then, though!

Directly to customers.
-
A drop in is $100 + shipping -- it simply includes a drop-in recone. Glue is extra.
-
I see Sean made it over there with the help of a translator, haha.
-
Yes, that is the 8-layer round version of the Monster coil -- 56mm length.
-
The 8-layer round wire for the monster is what you mean - it was only 56mm tall, though - the NS v.2 coil is 71mm tall.
-
Correct -- the magnets are shorter. With other changes to the design the motor strength is still higher. It is not so simple as to change the basket design... tooling for baskets is extremely expensive !
-
The v.2 Nightshade has more excursion, more power handling, higher motor strength, etc compared to the v.1 model -- it is improved in every way The flat back and top plate like the SA series and Monster series would make the NS v.2 too heavy! The top and back plates are both 40mm thick steel... this much weight would risk breaking the basket.
-
The Dual-2 SA-12s will be in stock shortly... likely within 7-14 days -- along with the second shipment of the Dual-4 version. I've had alot of people anxiously awaiting the Dual-2 version so I thought I would let everyone know
-
They'll start shipping once they get here -- they are done and shipping to me soon.
-
Comparison : NS v.2 / Z v.2 / NS v.1 It's here ! I'll build it up once I'm done w/ shipping for the day to make sure it meets all my design specs.
-
I'll ask Sean to get more pictures.
-
I can likely get pretty close.
-
Possibly if you send it in.
