Either moving the amps to the sides OR putting the side panels back in is not working (I was trying a suggestion to move the amps here instead of in front of the box)... so next step is to put my old amp rack back in: If the old amp rack doesn't bring it back to at least the original score I will take the plastic panels back out.

I don't know if I'm louder with or without the panels... some anecdotal evidence suggests that I am louder WITH them but I've never done an A-B test.

I've used refurbished amps from dB-R in my own vehicle before -- so yah, they do fine

Customers are generally very happy with the dB-R refurbished amplifiers. Chris handles refurbished sales -- so you would need to contact him.

Quantity is limited... we are trying to clear out all or almost all of them by years end.

They are 8s after all... going from 353 in^2 cone area to 200 in^2 with about half the stroke of the BTL -- yes, you will lose a good bit of output. It will be MUCH more compact, though.

So Sean is up with his CRX and we are doing some testing... we hit a brick wall last time at 149.0 dB using a 4" aero-port. So... Sean and I got the idea to try a 6" aero-port for the single 8" woofer! The result is 149.9 dB so far. Peak is 66 Hz in the kick... the CRX normally peaks at 68 Hz so we are going to work on re-tuning to break the 150 outlaw. Fun stuff We have as much port area as cone are now *laughs*

Will start shipping them ASAP. These things are HEAVY!

Enclosure suggestion is in the first post -- they will work in your volume fine. Pre-sale is still on.

This is the second one I've made. They are a pain in the butt to do... so I never offered them openly. Everything is so tight even the tied down leads smack the cone -- so I will likely go in and glue on some felt pads behind the cone. In any event... here she is : * Yes, the dust cap JUST fits inside the surround... actually have to pry it out with a screw driver even without glue. * Terminals come out to the side so I can solder the leads after assembly. * Big motor on small frame !

A long time ago we offered it on the SAZ-1500Ds -- before the 2000, 3000, 3500, 4500, etc were released. It's been years.

Linear Xmax by 70% BL method is 16.5mm -- usable throw is closer to 25mm or so before the frame runs out of room, and they can move that far.

This one is Nightshade v.1 built as 10" size. I will offer the Nightshade v.2 as a 10" by special order. To me it is too powerful to be practical as a 10" but some people may want it anyway.

Hopefully the Nightshade v.2 gives me a better number !
