So I was looking, and saw that Steve Meade has the pioneer deh-p710bt a step up from the one I have the deh-p610 -
Yeah question, kinda too broad. Need to know if you want to get loud, or your going for quality. Quality-JL: loud-sad!! But I wouldn't sleep on the JL, because it can get pretty loud also, and on the other hand, the ssd can sound pretty good in a sealed box like said above. I'd personally get the FI

Not everyone has the mids you have. But yea, 63/80 should work fine. What mids do you have bro? And I'll try it, once I do a new enclosure. Ported 3.0 cuft at 32hz -

Look into an fosgate 8" driver!! Not familiar with many other 8' woofers to satisfy what you are intending to do.

I dont even have a nice amp yet, "VA Audio 4500" but mann o mann, my car is falling apart just from that amp. I build the box sealed kinda big "3.2 cuft each sub" thinking about porting them and tuning to 33hz..leaving them 3.0cuft. THIS WAS ACTUALLY MY FIRST BOX I'VE EVER BUILT!!! WELL BOXES -
BTL would be the BEST!! but the BL and Fi Q are pretty decent also. This being a home application, I don't so much think you'll want a BTL disturbing the neighbors every time you watch a movie.

I havent owned the unit, so this is the only question I can answer. The LPF setting depends on your opinion. The range is usually between 60 and 80hz. I personally prefer 70hz, but youd need mids that could also get low enough to play 70hz safely it will only be for my subs. I'll try 64hz and see how they sound tomorrow. Thanks bro. -

How does the low end sound on em? In a proper box, low end is most certainly not lacking for Icon's, especially the copper coils. Oh and I have the classic icons -

mariobjones replied to mariobjones's topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
It sounds pretty nice!! Very clean bass, and gets loud in decent size boxes. -
Hey what's up SSA family, I'm new to the Ssa subs, but wanted to try them out!! Heard a lot of good things about them. I know you guys are thinking it will be a tight fit, and I'm ready for the challenge. Just wanting to get some input on what amp I should go with? All opinions accepted!! Will do build log!!

You won't be upset if you go the route of SSA Icons. I previously had 2 15 P3s. In the future will be upgrading subs to xcons, maybe even those ridiculous zcons lol (pretty sure I'm gonna have to build in car) -

It sounds pretty loud, didn't get the chance too see full potential yet tho. Their only getting roughly 600rms each. It's rocking my car!!! Putting 1 crescendo super tweeter back in their, but gonna do a custom mount under AC area. But, I almost broke my passenger side power window motor lol, like it would come back. Will be meeting up with my homie vic (y'all can look him up on YouTube vikes93) so we can do a couple demo's. -
