    USA-1000x

I've been racking my brain trying to figure out what amp to use for my BA Z6 comps. Well, I just bought a USA-1000x and plan on using that. What do you think about this combo? The 1000x doesn't have a high pass x-over but I think they Z6 passive x-over will handle it fine, right?

    I ordered an RL-i8

Hey there... I ordered an RL-i8 from the SS website on the 26th, but haven't received a paypal request or any other emails besides the automated bill #. Who will get in touch with me about completing the order? Thanks!

    I/S 4065 Bridged @ 3 ohm?

Ok, well, unless I get a different amp until the time it's all installed, i'll give it a shot and see what happens! I'll post results... thanks M5

    I/S 4065 Bridged @ 3 ohm?

correct, my questions is about an i/s4065 BRIDGED. so, this amp states it is only 4 ohm stable on 2 bridged channels...but does anyone suspect I would be ok at 3 ohms?
  7. Hoenstly, I didn't want to say which HU it is to keep out bias (and save face for myself) ...but it start with a 'J' and ends with an 'N'...it's exactly what I was looking for in terms of features (ipod integration, 6.5" screen in dash, DVD player) and at the right price.....only thing I'm wondering about if it is lacking in is preamp output ...and if i should use a line driver or not. I'm going to be running 2 US Amps - (as of now 1 i/s 4065 to a set of Z6 comps and 1 i/s 2100 to my sub) - and just wondering if that extra squirt of voltage would be mandatory or if the 2 V rms will be clean enough. Thanks for any advice.

    I/S 4065 Bridged @ 3 ohm?

Thanks M5...seems you are on top of all of my questions lately. Appreciated, especially since I'm a noob. Anyhow, I'd be interested still to know from someone that has some i/s experience if this is possible...or if I'd be wasting my time. I pm'd Flakko about some new US Amps, but seems he hasn't been online in a few days. I'm waiting on word from him... So with that, anyone else with info regarding brigded channels at 3-ohm? Thanks!
  9. Here's my head unit specs: 5v peak/ 2v RMS RCA output on all channels 100 ohm low impedance pre-amp outputs bass frequency adjustment - 60, 80, 100, 130, 150 and 200hz bass q factor - 1, 1.25, 1.5, and 2 treble frequency adjustment - 10, 12.5, 15, and 17khz sub x-over - 80, 120, and 160hz sub phase - 0 - 180 sub level - variable looking at the Audiocontrol Matrix, running two US Amps.

    I/S 4065 Bridged @ 3 ohm?

M5...the Z6 comps from Boston are a 3-ohm nominal resistance set. I'm thinking that if it were 2-ohm it would be a problem...but 3-ohm may let the i/s4065 still be bridged. OR, am I dreaming and there is no way two bridged channels can survive at 3ohms? This all determines if I will need a new amp or not, so thanks for any advice.

    I/S 4065 Bridged @ 3 ohm?

I have an i/s 4065 and am debating whether or not to run this for my Z6 comps. It would have to be bridged and that would be at 3ohms...is this possible for the 4ohm stable amp or a definite no-go? Thanks
  12. I'm sure I'll end up doing precisely the same you are doing initially....for safety purposes. I'll then monkey around with settings to see which sounds the best. As you said, that will be the best way to determine what is safest and sounds right. Good luck with your install...I hope it goes smoothly for you!
  13. Bigpete, those are the kinds of things i'm wondering. Anyone know if the Z6 crossover IN THEORY is just that good where it could be an adequate use on its own and, in fact, should be better than using both the amp and component crossover??? ....beyond the fact of my lisenting to it and hearing for myself...
  14. Alright, that makes it clearer. I will try to do both of them to see which I like better...it's as simple as putting the amp filter to the 'none' position! Thanks
  15. Ok, that confused me even more in some ways...but i did take from it that it's possible to use both...so I will try that. And thanks again for your time!
