    Input on 8's

The IXL-15's are being made as we speak. I'll post info/numbers on them once they are received. I have someone testing the IXL-8 and am awaiting feedback on it. The 10 and 12 are, well, waiting patiently...

    updates on mli-65 towers?

Yeah, gotta finish those.. With fall around the corner, I'll be coming back to them. I will post updates here - sorry for the delay.. m
  3. Very good. One suggestion tho - use a black marker on the exposed wood on your recess. That will help to give the box a nice professional finished look.

I wanna get loud...but i wanna sound good

Well, simply put, the IXL-18.4 is a low end monster. Regardless what size of box you chose to go with, the IXL will dig deep - more than the average car audio folk is used to. If you want something that will pound (which I believe you do) I would suggest a 6 cube box tuned to 26Hz. This will give you a nice bass "hump" right where it counts. You can then tailor the sound to your liking using your deck/eq/etc. For tuning, you can use one 6" port 15" long (or 13.5" if you go flared). Best, Mark

    Mach 5

The diameter of the MAW-10 magnet is 5.75".

    2 MAW-15's

If you are referring to the mounting and outside diameter they are 14" and 15 1/2" respectively. Personally, I would go slightly larger on the outside one - say 15 5/8" given the variations of the rubber mounting gasket.

    SPL Shootout - Winnipeg

It turned out well. There wasn't as many folks there as I was hoping but things went pretty smooth. I'll post a link to some pictures when I get enough energy to do so.

    no more MJ-18's on mach5audio?

    You guys are crazy...

    2 maw-15's

Well, there's little difference between the two sizes, so personally, I would lean towards the larger of the two. The depth of the MAW-15 is 6 5/8". The general rule for bracing is to brace every 15 or so inches if using MDF. You can do one hollow brace in the middle glued to all four sides (eg. the same shape as the sides running all the way around the enclosure).
  10. Are you sure you have enough bracing in there?

You will build it, blast it and tell us all about it..

    no more MJ-18's on mach5audio?

Yeah, big screwup on my part. I acidentaly deleted the MJ from the webstore. I have to rebuild it now. Just need the energy to do it..

    Sold Out...

I think you will be happy with them...

    spl 12

They aren't that difficult to drive. With that much power you should make the unit real happy...

    2 IXL 18's or 4 MJ-18 in IB?

The IXL-15's are coming soon. Perhaps they will work better for you...

    Waitin on that 20"

I believe I read a thread elsewhere stating that Incriminator Audio released (or will release) a 21" unit. You might want to check them out...

    Supertweet in JimJ's gallery....

And Jim, how the heck do/did you know the model number of the thing???!

    Supertweet in JimJ's gallery....

OMG! I thought I would never see another one of those! I had the liberty of ripping one apart many, many moons ago. I will try to describe it: - The clear plastic "waveguide" is composed of a series of plastic bevels attached to a plastic frame which aid in "radiating" the "ultra high frequencies" the "supertweeter" produced. It comes off as one piece. - That exposes the "transducer". It was composed of a plastic bobbin about two inches round covered with a thin black porous foam. This bobbin stood approx. 3" tall. - Wrapped around the foam was the "special diaphram", a piece of aluminum-like foil. This foil was a bit thicker than the foil you would get at the store. - The special diaphram had two wires connected to it. These wires were then connected to the "specially optimized crossover", which consisted of 0 parts - nothing - nada. It did produce sound though, but its output was extremely small. Probably because the frequencies were so high a simple mortal like myself could barely here them. It was a real seller for the model. I *think* they went for ~$2500...

    Edead v1 failures

Ah. Curious, how has eD responded to this problem? Did they send you some replacements?

How do you feel about eDead?
  21. Definitely post some pictures and notes about your build...

    Nice setup... And cheap too!

    Box Time

WinISD, even with the flaws it has, is quite accurate with vent lengths and tuning. I have found that 1/2" of port length equates to about 1Hz. Best, Mark

    Waitin on that 20"

I examined it and found it was not feasible to do such a thing - sorry.
