Four 10" Icon enclosure (termlab Video...143.6 @ 10hz)

Nicely done! -
As far as I know the Fi is a very good unit, and I think you would be able to achieve more output from it if you throw it into a bigger box like you mentioned. It's your call of course, and if you want something different, the IXL would be a contender. Best, Mark

Dust caps? Sure.
-
Ok, good. There will be some changes in the new year, so I can better assist you once they are complete. In the meantime if you want a new dust cap, let me know.
-
What's your time line?
-
A few folks got some fairly high numbers with them, which is a (pleasant) surprise to me.
-
4.5 cubes tuned to 30-32Hz. 6" port will be fine. Good luck on the project.

I think its a Chevy... Anyway, Joel has done a fair bit of customizing on this unit and will continue to do so through this winter. As the first pic shows he has removed the door handles, replacing them with an electronic system that ties into his Viper car alarm. He also did some front and back end frame work. This picture does the truck paint job no justice whatsoever - you would have to see it live to appreciate it The next shot shows the interior with the back seat ripped out. He will also be ripping out his single 12" Diamond Audio sub, replacing it with two SPL-15's. The cap will also go, but the nice Audison 1kw amp stays to power the front stage The next shot shows what he was running before. He does fiberglassing for a living so new pods will replace these And here begins the pod build. He decided to go with two MLI-65's per side The next shot is either a breast implant gone bad or Joel's pods ready for sanding This next shot basically speaks for itself Thanks to Bud, we acquired a Memphis 4000d amp to drive the SPL-15's Joel is getting a second Audison amp for the other front channel. He will have 2kw on tap for the front end alone. More pics coming - sub box, Joel's head unit, accessories, etc...
-
I believe the sub box will be rebuilt to look much more custom than just a simple box. Since Joel does fiberglassing for a living, all that is left is the stretch of one's imagination.

Can I get a pic of the backside of a MACH5

Nice. Thanks. -
Can I get a pic of the backside of a MACH5
mrogowski replied to gentlejax's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Some of the models have backside pics on the website. Which one were you interested in? -
Sounds about right but the numbers haven't be crunched on this. As Taxi says, port takes a fair bit of volume so be prepared for that

Shoot me a PM.
-
You sent Email? I recall sending a replacement dust cap out to one person who sent Email and PM'd me here. That was a few weeks ago. Shoot me a PM (through this forum) and I'll help you out. m

PICS! NOW! -
I received the first set of shots from Dave last night. All I can say is he does some real nice work
-
Here are some shots of the sub box and amps. Everything is mounted rough until Joel decides what he wants to do. Subs: Amps: Joel do some last minute adjustments with the crossover for the Mids and tweeters:
-
Just a quick update, Joel has everything in (well kind of - amps and wires everywhere), and I just have to make a modification to one of the crossovers. Hopefully we will have a pic or two of the inside this weekend.
-
3 cubes would be considered small, but as John mentioned, add stuffing - R12 fiberglass on all sides - and you may be Ok with it. I think you will be surprised by it...
-
*** Update - Nov 20, 2008 *** So Dave received the rest of his equipment and followed through with a few pictures: Subs with JL comps Rockford amps with a vintage Grimm Reaper Processors, mids and tweeters - the cap I believe is more for show than anything
-
You will be fine with that amp. A rough rule for alternators is ~70 amps for every 1000 watts of amp power. So whatever size alt you have make sure it has enough to power the rest of your car as well.
-
From ~30Hz up to whatever his fronts can handle. The IXL's will handle the extreme low end. I'm hoping Dave will chime in at some point...
-
Yup, he's finalizing his HT setup, which is over the edge too! Six MJ-18's and two IXL-18's for low end and mid-bass. I wish I was there to witness the whole thing. I asked him to take a few snaps of the setup - hopefully he will follow through.. m
