no not that i tryed everything i could think of. does SSA store cover this? if not they dont have them posted on the SSA store anymore so does that mean i cant buy another one Hove, if you can, take the driver out of your install and hold it up to eye level. Check to see if the surround is unlevel. Snap a picture of it if it is and shoot it to me. Thanks, Mark

A recone is certainly possible. Shoot me an email (to the mach 5 site) with your shipping info. Best, Mark

Yeah, I'm afraid all of the 4 Ohm coils from the original MJ are gone, unless I come across a box stuffed in the corner with one in it. Sorry.

Yeah, go larger if you can.

New Mach 5 Build - Zero Power Compression
mrogowski replied to mrogowski's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Well I couldn't find anyone locally who can do a clean cut through my plate so I will have to modify my lathe to cut it. This is probably the biggest thing holding me back at this point. May end up just biting my wallet and eating the few hundred for the parts I need to get this done. Coil is coming along. Currently sourcing out aluminum plate. Its coming.... -

It will be like nothing you have ever seen in a speaker before! Just thinking about this blows my mind. Now now Sean, don't be saying things like that. You know better. The build will be somewhat 'different', but it still boils down to the same thing - a diaphragm going in and out, moving air. Now that things have settled down a bit, I can work on this. I'm not proficient enough on the lathe to be messing with chunks of steel so big so I'll be taking them to a shop to get cut up. I'll probably take them in tomorrow, then wind the final coil this weekend. We'll see how things come out. -
IXL 18.2.2 - Good for daily ground pounder? VS HDC3 18's?

Thanks for posting the info Samuel. -
See if you can find some way/method to round over that partition - like using a large piece of doweling cut in half for example. Maybe snag a 6" sonotube and cut that in half. Also look at the inside corners - see if you can find an easy way to round those as well. Maybe look into the small sonotube or even a mailing tube you can glue to the corners and add a bit of bondo to smooth out the edges. In for a penny, in for a pound!

If its the deep lows you are trying to achieve and you have the box volume to do it, go ported. -
This is certainly a different setup. I'll be watching the outcome

Nice to see the 12" IXL v2's on the website.

I'm not sure if you could handle all of the excess DBz the Funky Pup dust caps could produce. I'm not liable for any deaths. -
Looks like you have a big hole in the corner of your door you will have to seal EDIT: I watched the last video and laughed out loud
