Powering a SAZ3500D
chrishova replied to chrishova's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
thanks for the heads up on Exccesive, and all the advice! And I guess trying to save a couple hundred on an alt is not worth frying my amp! I was planning on getting another SAZ3500D eventually, but to strap it on the SMD !!! Thanks for the ups on the SMD, Grand Prix build log coming soon... -
Powering a SAZ3500D

So a Mechman, DC or a good alternator company 220a will do?!?! I was looking at other companies likeExcessive Amperage http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001481548016 Any other good alt companies that aren't so pricey? Most def on the 3100's, two, maybe three. Maybe I'll experiment with the stock 220a for the car's eletrical on a custom bracket later...- 10 replies

X2! I jut got my SAZ3500D, SMD 15" will be here next weekend, "just" need batts and an alt...
-
Any other colors?!?!
-
I gotz mine!!! Still lookin for deals on enuf batts to run the thing! (The SMD 15"about got me broke! There's always NEXT PAYCHECK!)
-
Will it fit a GM 3.8 V6?!?!?!?!
-
Thank you! It is ugly trying to get two ends of wire in one speaker terminal.
-
I have a SAZ3500D and going to wire it to a D2 SMD. Since there are 2 + (positive) outputs and two - (negitive) otuputs (4 holes where you connect the speaker wire to), can I run a wire from each +positive on amp to each +postive on speaker and same with the negitives. So I will have 4 seperate wires going to the woofer, 1 for each terminal. What will my Ohm load be?

How'd you do that? Its from Facebook and it synced my friends to my contacts and adds Birthday and Facebook default picture. So when its some bodies birthday, it sends me a notification reminding me. And if I don't do it when it notifies me, I usually forget. So that's why if your really worried about it. How'd you do that?!

Happy Birthday! You Da (old) MAN! lol :dancing: :dancing:

Will this do? http://www.audiosavings.com/products/Car-Amplifier-Power-Cable/CADENCE-0-GAUGE-RED-AMP-POWER-WIRE-49-FOOT-SPOOL-NEW/0G15M-RED.aspx Candance 0 gauge OFC

That's usually how I run this sort of system, but since there are two pos. outs and two neg. outs, can I run it like this and have 4 seperate wires going to the woofer? Or will that be like running it as 2 channel http://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/269812_1693873038922_1600682969_3018053_3257740_n.jpg If not, do I run it like in the previous post picture and hook it up to the "left" side or the "right" side of the amp

60 seconds, plugged in the harness, 14.9 volts. Worth the $22!
-
Yea, but it takes the guesswork out of the, what diode, what color, question.
-
Sorry, the "step 1" that raises voltage by .6, for $17.99, and for $4 more there's the "step 2" wich raises voltage by 1.2
-
Any '97- '03 Grand prix owners can buy one that raises it by .6 or for $4 more there's a stage 2 that raises it by 1.2 volts. I have the .6 on now, eh, I just ordered the stage 2. It's the same idea. Will keep ya posted. http://www.zzperformance.com/grand_prix/products1.php?id=517&catid=107

Thinking about getting these bad boys

I'm going to look at them one day it's under 100 degrees! I tried to contact turbometal.com where I got them, nothing! It's also slowing down my SMD build! -

I got something like them on my '97 grand prix, be careful! my interior lights ar blinking. -
yea that would be the most sensible thing to do. I have dual runs of 1/0 positive ran to the trunk. from there, i run both runs of positive to the 1st battery. Also have two runs of 1/0 negative ran to the 1st battery from the side wall in the trunk using (2) dual ground foots. from the first battery, parallel + and - to the second battery, and paralell + and - to the third battery. All battery wiring done with 1/0. Wiring in between batteries is less than a foot each. Any scheimatics (pics)

NIIIIICE!!! Thank you!
