Questions about my 2005 RLp 15 D2
Dangrebel replied to Amish Marauder's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
I say keep the amp also!! There are multiple good box builders on here and I think a properly built ported box would be perfect, it switches everything about your system. Just what you need but without having to drop a ton of cash for a new amp! -

Well i just put 100 dollars in the bank and was bout to send the money to crescendo to get their new mp6 pa mids, come to find out they ran out of stock 2 days ago!!! they said they still have some 8 ohm versions left for sale. i was gonna run 4 on a mb quart onx 4.125. well i planned on using the front channels for the mids and the rear for my tweets. well i cant buy the 4 ohm versions so would it be better to get the 8 ohm and run them 2 on left front channel and 2 on the right front channel for half the power i would have been getting, or wait 43 days til the 4 ohms get back in stock?

Low pass crossover?
Dangrebel replied to Dangrebel's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
LOL. Anyways, yes that crossover will technically work as it allows for highpass of the tweeter and bandpass of the mid. Though I couldn't find anything in the manual that specified the slope of the crossovers, however. typically they will be 12db/oct or 24db/oct. But seeing as how that is an important piece of the puzzle and will (for example) determine how low you can set the highpass crossover for the tweeter, I would see if you can find out exactly what the crossover slopes are. If they are shallow it might be a less than idea solution. Also, their terminology is a little stupid. They use the wrong terms to describe what is going on. For example, what they call the "BP Lowpass" is actually the highpass for the rear output when used in bandpass mode. What is your budget? http://www.ebay.com/itm/COUSTIC-DR-DX-28-DIGITAL-REFERENCE-FULLY-ACTIVE-CROSSOVER-OLD-SCHOOL-RARE-/180812062501?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a193d1f25 That would be an excellent piece of equipment if you could get it for about half of what he's asking, as it's value is closer to the $100 mark. Well the tweets I will be running already have an inline crossover so I don't think the slope on the power bass would matter much unless i need it for the mid. Also if worst cones to worst I could just use the high pass on my amp for my tweets. Thank you for your help!! I wish I could afford the coustix but I'm on a teenager budget lol -
What's a good low pass cross over for my MIDs so they don't play to high. Crescendo mp6's are what I will be using. And a mbquart onx 4.125

Sweet I'm super excited y'all! Would 1 in the door 1 in a kick panel be alright?

That's what I'm hopin! But would only be half the wattage:( So? It's just a number. As long as you're getting the ouput you want, right? I would rather run less power and still get results, it's easier on all your equipment. Plus it's more of a shock when you tell people, "oh it's only 50 watts to each speaker" or something when they expect something much higher, eh'? Yea I guess your right!! Well I called and they said they were out of both versions he told me that he might be able to get some from a demo vehicle used, I said hell yea!! He is supposed to be callin me back tommorow

I have 2 18's at 30hz and sounds excellent!! Bottom end isn't bloated and is accurate. But I listened to a lot of mid 20's content. If you listen to really low songs or screwed and chopped, go for a low tune!!!

Anybody? Would the power bass xex-23 be a decent crossover for what I'm trying to acheive? -

The people pulled up in my driveway and started bitching at me because I was "rattling there pictures and dishes" they threatened to call the cops on me but I said I would keep it down. And they said the drove around til they found me. Ha they live over a hill and through woods, about a half mile away. I was amazed.

Larger sizes are recommended more bottom end performance. They handle less power but get lower. If you were only running half the rms of the sub, I would run a larger box to compensate for lack of power.
-
What? I'm lost lol. Is that a joke?

2 18in aq hdc3's on a crescendo bc2000d lol, it wasn't the cops but even worse, the people that lived there. I was so embarrassed haha they threatened the popos but I haven't played it loud since.
