True, didnt think about the fact that they're not truly 2 ohms/coil.. -

Why would you do that and why do you believe that? Curious how he tested the 200A at idle as well... So I wouldn't have to recone the btls.. But I might go with a different option, nothing is set in stone right now. Just weighing options. I could get an amp that does power at 2 ohms! -

I see... Hmm. Well if I was to run at 0.5, it would be with an amp that is still under warranty at that level.... So if it fried I'd get a new one (assuming the warranty is as good as ot should be) ... then recone the btls to 1 ohm and run 1 ohm! -

Stefan you always do that, you make a sarcastic comment and dont clarify yourself... Im aware that you know more about this than me, please correct me instead of making me look stupid. The final ohm load will be in the 0.7-0.9 range, I dont understand your "silly us" comment. -

I'm expecting to wire at 0.5, after rise I'll probably be seeing 0.7-0.9. That's the idea anyways -

Yes his website is about as simple as it gets, however he has responded to every e-mail I've sent him literally within a few hours at the most. If there are any discrepancies, you can just e-mail him and he'll clear it up! Currently, I'm running 2 72Ah batteries that are about 62 pounds a piece, weldingsupply 1/0 throughout, going to my AQ2200D and AA 10.4. I plan on running somewhere around 6000 watts at 0.5 ohm in the future, I think this alt has the balls to back it up! -
Looks super cool man, wish I knew more about bandpass designs.

Here's the deal. I currently drive a 98 K1500 Z71. I've put a good bit of work/money into it: sub build, wheels/tires, HIDs, sound deadener... Just got a lot of sweat put into this thing. My grandfather recently acquired a 92 Ford Explorer that might as well have been driven off the showroom floor yesterday... Thing is CLEAN. 105,000 original miles, cloth seats look new, no cracks in the dash (well, anywhere really), etc... Tires are good, carpet is perfect, and it's mechanically sound. He would sell it to me for $1500. I would like to get $6500 out of my truck, but realistically I could maybe squeeze $5500 out of it. That would leave me with $4000 to do whatever I wanted (2 18s on a 5500 at 0.5 ohm??) $4000 - $589.95 (DC 270XP) - $494 (Another Fi BTL N2 18) - $899 (Crescendo BC5500D) + ~$400 (Sell my amp) - $200 (Sound deadener) - $300 (mid range, and other things you don't think about when making a list like this) - $500 (batteries) = $1,417.05 ~ $1,400 end profit with a BAD ASS sound system... I understand this would be a ton more work, but I think it may be worth it. My truck is extremely bad ass, but there isn't much room for stereo expansion unless I do a blow-through (and fuck that). What would you guys do? I'm stuck.

Thanks for the input guys. I took the explorer for a spin and I wasn't happy with the performance at all. I guess my 5.7L V8 has spoiled me a little bit. I think I'll keep the truck until an opportunity presents itself. My dream car is a 1995-1999 2 Door Tahoe. I wish SO much that I would've went with that over my current truck, but it is what it is. If I luck out on a deal for one of those, or possibly one of the OBS 4 doors, I might go all out, but for now I think I'll stick with the truck. Mark my words: I WILL have an SUV doing 150s with at least 2 woofers by the time I'm 21!

Don't quite understand this part... Didn't mean to put the "so" I'll edit it.

I love it, it's a pretty looking vehicle. Blowthrough = decreasing truck's value by at least $1k. Nobody wants to buy a truck with a big ass hole in the back. I think I might have ninja edited on you, I added the cost of batteries. With the rest of the things (wiring, sub options, shipping, etc) I'd still be sitting around $1000. $1000 that I didn't have before... Explorer is a 4.0L V6, no 4x4. I don't think this is that big of a turn-off for me though. KBB on my truck is like $5800, with the stuff I've done to it I think $5500 is reasonable. I know how selling cars goes, you never get what you really want, but I truly feel that I could get $5500 out of it. And yes, he told me $1600 for sure, if I came with $1500 cash I'm 90% sure he'd let it go.

132k Regular driving, I guess. I'm only 16, so I haven't really found my niche yet I reckon. I like the look of the big 4x4s, but to be honest, I wouldn't want to take my truck in some deep shit. Dependable, and starting to realize how important gas mileage is lol.

Choosing RCA Cables
burko replied to burko's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Ordered. Thanks guys, I'll let everyone know how they perform. -
I will be running a 4-channel amp to run my mids/highs, so I'm looking into a 4-channel RCA set. I've heard people say that it really doesn't matter how good the quality of the cable is, and I've heard the opposite. How do you think these would perform? I have Amazon Prime, so $12.41 with 2-day shipping sounds pretty sweet. Are they worth it, or should I go with something else?

The Knu Konceptz, or the ones I suggested? And to everybody, this is good news. I might irder em and give em a shot, I can return em if they don't suffice. Will be running to an Addictive Audio 10.4 (115 x 4 @ 4) -
Chuck Norris is scared of the ear splitting Funky Pups.

Unfortunately, after a multitude of houses were literally removed from their foundations due to testing Funky Pups, they were discontinued. Now, they have to be driven by a flux capacitor with a minimum of 84 jigawatts of power to even function, not to mention the Uranium cost...
