I would go with 2 6" aero ports, that would still be on the small side though, about 56.5 in^2 of port when the calculator i used recommends at least 62 get the t1500, just set the gains correctly

Glad to here I didn't miss anything there. Everywhere I see the formulas posted I see Vd = Sd*xmax, Sd = Vd / xmax, and so forth. But I did read in one thread where some did state multiplying by two to account for a full stroke. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Okay I found a table from loud speaker cookbook regarding some info on a 8" driver. I checked the numbers and it seems they calculated Vd by multiplying Sd & xmax. Anyone catch that, "convert to scientific notation to decimal", fail on my part lol. i dont see the significance, its all the same to a calculator

U dont like my title? lmfao

Np man, good luck on build! you should have a nice box if your dads a carpenter , just make sure it has no leaks!
-
sorry for the fuck ups, im tryin to do biochem homework at the same time
-
nope, if you want to know the first two i miscalculated port volume, first one i forgot to take sub dislplacement as well, then i corrected all that
-
actually i was running through my calculations again and i made a mistake, the difference is negligible, tuning will remain around 32 hz and volume only changes by .03 cubes, this time its right lmao
-
If you use the fi cutsheet and just shave off the 1/4 inch from width, you will be tuned a little higher than 32 hz (about 35) but it will sound fine i recalculated the volume for you and it will come to about 3.09 after port and sub displacement, this would be the easiest route for you and sound good

I got 10.8 from the formula you posted, which isn't more conservative compared to the ~17 i got from my equation, therefore I calculated something wrong in the first formula... hmm i did it myself and also got 17 What exactly does conservative mean in this case, conservative in term of saving space, or in terms of being sure there is no compression or port noise? Conservative being, the formula calls for a larger vent area, having less of a chance to have port noise. If your sure of that, then something is wrong

Just say "The theoretical limit for sound in our atmosphere is 194db. The only thing that could be louder is a shockwave." thats a good nugget of info lol
-
That formula is a more conservative version of what I posted, I believe. Which is why it is claimed to be more usefull for vented, i guess 10.8 sounds right for round port
-
I believe you used the one for a bandpass enclosure, the vented enclosure is i get 10.8 inches hmmm somtin aint right
-
what do you say when that happens lol is there even any reason to tell him the truth haha

Thanks nick, keep em coming!

Hmm, connection maybe? my ipod has been able to take some serious heat lol, black truck black leather and 100 F louisiana heat, its still workin even though i left it on the dash a few times Do you have an iPod video? They use HDD's so there's moving parts. They aren't as durable as the nanos or touches. I don't know if the heat killed it or what. It's been left in there on hotter days. Oh well, I needed to upgrade from the 30g anyways. I have the nano with video, guess it can take the abuse better, but my pos cell phone overheats 15 mins in my truck lmao

Actually, yeah... My gramps fell out of a tree and broke his arm badly enough that it was bulging the skin at the break enough to make out the bone shape. he was showing off to my grandmother. Granny must have been impressed

Man this sounds like a bunch of 14 year old girls crying about their feelings. Tirefryer, i see where you are coming from, especially since i am part of this retarded generation, but i also see why lantz would get offended even though he did "open the door". -
Multiple amp electrical questions
trod2902 replied to gunghoblazes's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Then you have not built a good ported enclosure. My BL plays exactly like bassahaulic said, very punchy on double bass and also crushes jeezy. It sounds just as good on metal as my SSD did in a sealed box, just louder.
