thanks. think i'm going to try a single shiva in a 1.5cuft. box sealed first. maybe after that i'll try it ported, about 2.5cuft. tuned to 28-30hz. both getting about 600-650wrms.

kyle, so could you post some good box recommendations for a pair of shivas'? sealed and ported? for good daily driving, not comps or anything.

the gains were set correctly, but had NO response at all. started to play with it and to get the response i have now that's where they have to be. lpf is at 70, ss off (all the way down, think on amp it's marked 11). set by ear, then had someone use a dmm and they left it at about the exact same way i had it before. amps a cadence txa1000d.

like the topic says i need some recommendations for a new box for my maw15. right now i have it sealed at 2.2cuft. after displacements, and while it sounds nice, just dissapointed with the output. was hoping to like it sealed as i like the flatter response of sealed boxes little more than ported, but after awhile of listening to it i'm starting to find myself turning off the radio cause i'm a little pissed:( hu settings are fine, amps fine but it's the response i'm getting that's letting me down. problem i'm getting into is around 90% of songs on any given cd (rap/hip-hop) i put in has like no response at all, then others will just slam. don't get it, same cd's will play LOUD in others rides' (and not talking about comp. cars, i'm meaning cvr's, w3s', etc.) but then put it in my car, nothing at all. it's like stock systems have more bass than mine, even though i have a 15" in the trunk. and to give a little more info, i have a civic and i ride with the seats down, sub facing rear of car, and the sub getting about 600wrms clean power. and to even get the response i have now, the gain is turned down and the bb up to about just under half (yet to hear distortion yet in the sub, and no smell either, and have played with it numerous times). so should i go with 3cuft. @ 33hz. or should i go with a 3cuft. box tuned higher? like 38-40hz.? not really too worried about the sq as i'm sure it'll still sound decent enough (just my work car, not my project ride).

i don't think anyone uses xbl^2 anymore, that know of (could be wrong). and i want to say everyone dropped it due to adire having a patent on it.

hello, thanks for any help in advance. i'm looking at ordering my first mach 5 subs ( ) and just wanted some recommendations as to which ones' i should get and bopx sizes. right now i have a crappy 15" kicker cvr in a ported box tuned to 35-36hz. and i want something to keep up with it in spl but also have better sq (which shouldn't be hard since kicker sucks, but it was damn near free). i have 650wrms to play with so i'm thinking about 2 maw 12's. how would they compare sealed or ported? if sealed works (kinda hoping it does, miss the lows my box now doesn't get) what would be good size, was thinking about 2.5cuft after displacements? or ported, but i'd want it tuned low, i really cant stand higher tuned boxes for some reason. or if i go with a single maw 15, would 650wrms be to much for it? and box sizes for that. if it helps at all i listen to all rap/hip-hop and the box i have now is 33" L x 17 1/2" H x 12 1/2" D (and with the way the amp is mounted to the side of the trunk, is about all the room i can use also). again, thanks for any help, can't wait to order these!

nice! and i thought i already had my new subs picked out. can you give any more specs yet? also, how do you think a pair would be on a sae 1000d (just pre-ordered 2) cause if they'll take it daily i'm in for 4. and when would pre-orders be ready for these?

hey t-rex, i live in ct. too. what kind of prices you think you can get me on some amps. the ones i'm lookin at is the ax1000de, ax1500de, and the md 1d. let me know cause i've been looking for some new amps and really want some us's. thanks
