what are the actual specifications for these two amplifiers? i keep seeing different ratings from different sites. even from the thread on here compared to the us amps site. lookin for the stats on paper.. not how much they put out when they were benchtested, i know theyre underrated.
-
well im pretty sure it should fix the noise coming from my speakers right? i will probably add a relay if it doesnt fix the turn on.
-
I'm getting sort of a loud bass note when the amplifier turns on and I was wondering what could be the problem. It was a drop in install since I had an amp installed before this already and there was no loud turn ons with the other amplifier. Also, since I put the MD2 in, I'm getting a lot of noise through my speakers at low volumes. The noises go along with how my engine works (i speed up, noise pitch gets higher). The grounds are the same as I had before and I never had this problem, so does anyone know how to fix this or the loud turn on?

thanks eldorado, i just got a reply from greg from us amps too and he said to ground my rca's to the radio chassis and it should fix both problems. i'll try that first.

ohhh.. so bridged would probably be about 160x2? pm me on the price
-
ahh.. cool. thought so. but for the md41 i'm gettin either 50 x4, 60x4, or 75x4. and 160-180 bridged. haha. if anyone can help that'd be cool.

nice man! i'm jealous, i only have dual 12's.. haha.

Okay, I know many of you have heard both SE's and RL-p's, and although I know I am on a Soundsplinter forum, I feel like I could get an honest opinion from many of you, so here it goes. What would the differences be between the two in their optimum sealed enclosures? How would the output and SQ differ? It will be Dual 12's with a Diamond D6 1000.1. I am asking because the RE SE's brand new are about 330 shipped for me.. and the Rl-p's are quite a bit more. I wanna know if it is worth the jump.

here you go.. installed in the box. lookin sharp! hard as hell to stuff in my trunk, shoulda went with more depth and less height, but whatever, i got it in. first impressions are how good the sq actually is. it's killer to say the least. hits every note and it lets you know that it can. output right now is slightly less than what i expected, im sure it'll open up after a few hours. not that the output sucks, it actually kinda hurts my heart on some songs.. lol. killer subs mike, ridiculously good customer service also. i'll probably post a more thorough review in a week or so. oh yeah, im running a d6 1000.1, upgrading to the MD2 soon

i would say bridge your alpine to run the front stage only and see if its loud enough. the rear fill can be run off the headunit. if its not loud enough i suggest finding something 150 x 2 at least. those components shine when you give them the right power, i dont think they should have a problem keeping up.
-
just wondering those with 2 12 rl-ps sealed or 1 ported 15 rl-ps, what components are you running in your front stage and what amp is powering them?

here is my enclosure guys.. had vince's audio make it for me as i don't have the tools or workspace at home. i also didnt trust my stereo shop, as they are mathematically and electrically incoherent. 1.5 net cubic ft per driver, with bracing, 1" front baffle. http://www.vincesaudio.com/17.htm should be getting to me tuesday/wednesday.. the wait is killing me! and this thread title should be changed to rl-p! or something. hah.
-
thanks guys, whats the best way to break in the sub and how long should i give it?
-
man.. im stuck on the enclosure size.. 1.25 or 1.5. I want at least SOME low-end cause my D6 didn't have much at all. and i want good output without sacrificing sq. sorry, i am an indecisive person. hah.
-
wow my check cleared in one day... first time thats happened. but you know that that means! Your final cart is: Item # Quantity rl-p12_4o 2 Total: 497.95 hit me up mike!
-
that was a good read!
-
ok thanks.. you guys have been very helpful. Looks like i'm gonna do 1.25 per driver sealed.
-
how do aeroports work? are they purchaseable online?
-
thanks guys, i've decided on the dual 12 rl-p setup and will get it once my money clears. if you guys could help with the enclosure that'd be awesome. for sealed, i'm looking for something that has excellent output without sacrificing SQ. if i decide to go ported, i won't have much space to work with so I might have to do 1.5 per driver at around 30-32 hz. will the output be better with such a small ported box and how will the sq change going from 1.5 @ 30 hz to 2.0 @ 32 hz?
-
I understand. How do you rate the SE's output and SQ? I mean if it fits my needs, then it's what I'm going for, but if I need more then I'll step it up. Edit: Nice comparison mike.. helped a lot. And you joined this forum on my birthday!

Well for my goals.. both quality and exceptional output have to be present. I want clean bass with good output, nothing like 140 dbs or anything, perhaps 130-135, just a daily driver, not into competitions. Sub must be versatile, although I listen to rap, I want it to hit clean notes. I also listen to rock ocassionally so the subs have to keep up. I just thought I'd be able to get a decent comparison between the SE and RL-p or a review of the SE.
-
Okay.. soo. I've been checkin out these soundsplinter subs for a while now, never really had the chance to get anything due to money issues. First post so here we go. Heard excellent things and then some about the Rl-p's, but can't afford them. So I'm lookin at some Rl-i 10's right now. Right now I have dual Diamond D6's 12". From what I heard they are a step below the rl-p in output, but they get loud enough for me. Just can't keep them anymore though. How do the Rl-i's sound and whats the best box for SQ and SPL combo? I don't really understand the graphs on the site. Any comparison to the D6 line would be awesome also. And I'm running a Diamond D6 1000.1 amplifier, how will the rl-i's take it?
-
well.. i'm considering doing dual RL-p 12s now, or perhaps a rl-p 15. I have a D6 1000.1 and can upgrade to the 1500.1 if i get the rl-p 12s. which setup will closely match the output of my dual diamond d6 12"? they had 16.5 xmax, i know its not a deciding factor but it was sealed, so yeah.
-
man, i can only find videos of the rl-i 12". theres only one of the 10" sub. what happened to the 12" anyway?
