If you use it as a daily driver don't do it ! You will need a great electircal system.

You don't appreciate what you can hear till your hearing is gone.

I think you have a wiring issue! Disconnect the sub or subs from the amp and see if it still does it.

Why I am still dipping?
pmureika replied to Chris1309ny's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Is it just a split second dimm or it goes down and stays dimm? You need to take some voltage readings at front bat, and at the amp. -
why was/is this alpine amp $250?
pmureika replied to Truconcept's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Alpine is A high end brand name. So they charge more. -
strapping
pmureika replied to Doug McCambridge's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Strapping two amps. You must run a two or four ohm load to the strapped amps because below 2 they wont be stable. Your power will double at 2 ohms. You can't go lower then 2 ohms. You would need 2 D2 subs to get a final two ohm load. http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp?Q=2&I=22#results -
14.4v - 13.8v drop... is it the fuse??
pmureika replied to Truconcept's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I apologize "measure the drop across the holder" was too much for my puny brain 2 comprehend i will try this sorry again for my dickery I'm considering this but that would mean a hit on my pocket as I'm hoping 2 sell the extra 1/0 and make some profit this summer If i were to run it tho I am thinking of going straight from alt to the back batt is this ok? I am also worried about my factory alt taking a shit if i add a second run but theres no logic behind that, just a worry Overall if the 13.8 is nothing 2 really worry about especially on 2000watts then i would be ok but i have a bad feeling about how it'll be in the summer heat Do you already have the big three to the front battery? And then a 1/0 to the rear? -

pmureika replied to Truconcept's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Thats what I assumed, across the fuse not at the amp. -

Are you measuring right at the fuse? -
Use a single pole double throw switch to run either two speakers under the hood or switch it to run the door speakers.
