Running active.
pmureika replied to pmureika's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I guess my point is how many persons drive their car long enough to care? -
Electrical ?
pmureika replied to antoinez28's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Maybe the amp draw isn't as high during the warm weather. -
This is why SSA it one of the best they respond to your questions. Best customer service around!

Best NON - Nav Headunits for SQ?
pmureika replied to ChadS13TDI's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Use a good quality one with a mini dsp. There are so many options. Running active will give you the best "SQ". -

Yes but it has Navigation with it. Do you want to run a active front stage? -
Best NON - Nav Headunits for SQ?

Clarion makes one. I don't remember the model. -
The thing with crescendo is they don't give anything extra with their speakers. No paperwork for warranty or instructions. At least for their comp sets.

Budget range? -
I think it would help if they said 7-15+ business days and faster email responses!

If you do I think you will be sorry. Who is going to build a custom sub faster? Just wait for some of the best subs on earth.

Battery Isolator for a second battery install?
pmureika replied to THX_Elite's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I would use one one a boat. I never listen to loud music in a car without it running because of voltage drop. -
Who CDT??? well any companies you would recommend for high power SQ at $600 for budget on both sets of door speakers? I would not do all four doors. Just the fronts!

Battery Isolator for a second battery install?
pmureika replied to THX_Elite's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I would say no. -
Thanks! I really did enjoy building it. I hadn't done any amount of woodworking in quite a few years. I would change just one thing, the glue I used. I went with liquid nails, which doesn't sand very well. I'll weigh the whole unit when I take it out soon, as I'm curious. What you think, about 160lb? JAy-Cee: You have me considering swinging by Sears today after work. $100 less per battery sounds good! What do you have for electrical in the Acura?? Nothing in the Acura at the moment besides big 3 and agm under hood, everything besides the front stage is ripped out as im planning on upgrades and a new car. All batteries from here on out will be from Sears, those Diehard Platinums are the way to go. Yeah I would definitely go buy Sears and grab a g31 or two. But what are your goals?

Looking for a used 10" dcon 4 ohm svc or a gcon dvc 2 ohms. I would prefer a dcon.
-
What would you recommend for a sub? Needs to be a 10" 2 ohm. Going into a khaotik box. I am thinking a D4 Dcon.

Take Alton"s advice, It's the install that makes subs sound great!

Thanks again, THX! That will come in handy as soon as I have the courage to open up the sub. xDIts not that hard. Just need to unscrew all the screws around the sub and take it out of the enclosure. And take some pictures of the sub and inside the enclosure if you canWhy does he need to take the sub out of the box?Well if it reads 1 ohm outside of the box it could be a dual 2 ran to 1 or could be a dual 1 with only one coil hooked up or something like that. You neverknow lol. And with the sub out we will be able to see port length and how well the enclosure was even built Or it might be the way the amp is tuned. If I read that thread right. He said the box said dual 1 coils. Who ordered the sub?

Thanks again, THX! That will come in handy as soon as I have the courage to open up the sub. xDDisconnect the speaker wires from the amp and see what ohm reading you get at those wires.Pretty straight forward! Thanks, pmureika! I'll post results as soon as I buy the dmm. Thanks again, THX! That will come in handy as soon as I have the courage to open up the sub. xDIts not that hard. I can do all this as soon as I get off work. Should hopefully be a ten hour day today (possibly 12) but if I have the strength when I'm out, I'll get all this done for you guys. I really wanna start with the process of elimination so we can find out if it's me...or the setup! Expect a full on update of my attempts this night. I only hope I have enough time. If not, this weekend works much better for me. I work more like 4 hours sat/sun lately, so I could get pics for you guys then, and most likely a video of the sub in action. I had some downtime at work this whole time. I'm going to see if it's picked up. If it has, I'll reconvene with you guys when I'm free. Should be about 7 hours from now if it's time for me to put in work before clocking out. Do you have D2 or a D1 sub? http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp

pmureika replied to jonblack's topic in Advanced Discussion
Depends on which grade birch plywood!
