pmureika replied to Syphlyn's topic in General Audio
In that wire should be a fusable link if you look close. -

For someone who doesn't know what they're doing, it's also a good way to break things as it's uselessness goes both ways. Its only good as a paper weight. -

You could do the same thing with your ears for free. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=57RUYL6lsq0 -
I hope you bought the .5 ohm warranty.

Four channel amp
pmureika replied to pmureika's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I don't know. I have ever used a four channel to power a sub. So what I am saying if I set it to high pass won't the sub try to play all the hz? -
Sounds great so far on 400rms@4ohms.
-
I built a 1.45^ft box tuned to 40 hz for the hds210.
-
Great looking build enjoy it.
-
I had my box for a hds210 tuned to 40 hz for my jeep liberty. I am in about the same range. If you are only going to run 1000 rms. I don't think you will hear the difference between them.

Optima Red or Yellow Top for under hood
pmureika replied to EddieC's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Doesn't look like I'll be able to wedge the Die Hard Platinum 34 under the hood. The length is just a bit too long to fit without removing the Borla intake system to make it work. Plus it looks like all the Platinums had a price increase this week. So now I'm down to the last day of the 25% off at Pep Boys and I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with this battery. It's a Bosch Platinum (made by Exide apparently) and seems to have pretty good numbers to it. 120 minutes of reserve which is better than the Optimas...plus the length is just enough to fit without going to extreme measures to make it work. Are these decent batteries? Never dealt with a Bosch one. http://www.pepboys.com/product/details/838883/00162 Exide is one of the largest battery companies in the world. S0 I think the bosch battery would be just fine. Bosch itself is a good company. -
I would recommend the Barbara Ann amp to anyone looking for a great value amp with all the features. Makes my system come alive.

Thanks! HDS210 Powered by a Barbara Ann Amp.

I got a demo of this sub and box combo and was surprised with the sound this dcon made. Great bang for the buck. -
No it doesn't. Just warm to the touch. Why should I run two amps when I can get away with one.
-
I am using it as a three channel amp because the sub doesn't need much power. Just less wires to run. I use the front channels to run my front stage. Then bridge channels 3 & 4 to give 400 rms @ 4ohms to the sub.
