upgrade to hds300 12 d2 or hxfl 12 d2
pmureika replied to a1sauce47's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
I wish you had a amp you could wire down to one ohm. Then you could hear if it would make the Alpines louder. What have you done to upgrade the electrical going to the amp? Wire size, big three, grounding? -

There are people on this forum that could help better, but it's a bad time of the year. There are so many people gone right now. -

What I am saying is the box you have will determine which sub will be louder. But probably not what you could hear. Try downloading Winisd to model subs in your box. The box is more important then increasing power. Or maybe someone on the forum can do it for you. I can't. -

A larger sub on the same power would gain you more then adding more power. But the box size might need to be changed. -

Yes. That is my goal. It gets loud but not as loud as I would like. I'm not running my amp at its full potential so I need 2 2ohm dvc sub's to do that. Not interested in competing just a daily setup. The 250 watts rms would not make a audible difference that you could hear.I am aware of that I just wanted some recommendation for some sub's that are better than type r without spending a fortune . wouldn't getting 2 quality sub's that are rated for a 2400 watt load be louder than my current 1500 watt setup? To the human ear probably no. Modeling the subs for that box would tell you more. -

Are you trying to make your system louder? -

What is the rms power rating on those subs? There is no such thing as under powering a sub. If you have a amp that puts out only 200 watts rms above the subs rating you can adjust the gain to not over power them. You have a lot to learn about car stereo ! -
Which ones?

Help smell coming from back, one sub doesn't work.
pmureika replied to Shang Tsung's topic in General Audio
No. This has absolutely nothing to due with what happened. You can't tell this dude anything. He knows why his equipment is blown but at the end of the day he doesn't why know why it blowed. Im just waiting for him to come back and post, "I have another smell coming from the trunk, these sorry ass type r's can't handle my badass hifonics amp. lol Still sounds like human error to me. -
incriminator audio scion xb build, 2 18" judges on an NS1
pmureika replied to icluphf's topic in Build Logs
box is 15.4 cubes after bracing and is tuned to 32. just under 16 inches of port for every cubic foot. all double layered 3/4 birch and all seems fiberglassed. mechman 240 and just a stock batt up front and 3 crescendo logic group 31 batts in back (soon to be 5). everything wired together with 2/0 sky high ofc. subs are 2 incriminator audio judges wired to one ohm on a sundown ns1. voltage holds steady but i just broke my voltage meter and im shopping around for the best one i can find. Steady at what voltage? I calculate you need over 460 amps @ 13.8 to keep up if your pushing the system to max. Also what other amp(s) do you have for your front stage? Are you going to run passive or active on the front stage? -

Taramps 50k supply voltage

Sounds like it would be getting pretty big size wise. -
I am very pleased by the sound of the gcon. It is being powered by the rear channels of a US Acoustics Barbara Ann amp. It makes bass come alive while producing fantastic sound. Oh it can get window shaking loud. A dcon on steroids !

Hey I was playing with car stereo back in the early 70's. lol

The sound deadening I added seemed to helped the most.

Not what I wanted to upload.

They seem to work good. I am sure there are better setups out there. My computer skills suck !
