How do I do it. Just set the meter to ac and see if I have any ac current. -
I have a six year old yellow lab that goes wild if I turn the stereo up.

I have a mechman 300amp in a jeep liberty. With clamp meter I was getting 250 plus with the stereo cranked up and ac running. Also the voltage was at 14.1. -

Checking alternator diodes while car is running

In the alternator. Oh I thought you meant diodes outside of the alt lol. Yeah just switch it to AC I guess. Make sure you use a clamp meter if it's anywhere over like 500 mA or whatever your DMM is rated for.. I was told to set it to ac volts and measure at the bat. Which I did and got .05vac You measured at the battery? Your alt puts out DC volts not AC. Not if a diode is going bad. Alternators put out ac voltage the diodes turn it into dc volts. -

Do you think a small company has someone just watch emails? They should be returning emails daily, especially this kind. If you get 20 emails a day, how many will you have if you wait days and days to look at them? Thats ALOT of unhappy people. Not a good way to run a business. FWIW I have always recieved a return email within 24-48hrs. Even when I had BS questions. Thats why I buy SSA subs. Much better support.

which is better?
pmureika replied to Budah93's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Because they can? If his subs can handle the power and his electrical setup can provide the power then there is nothing wrong with running more power than...whatever random number you wanna pick. Hey...I learned how install an amp on youtube. I learned what the Big 3 is, I learned how to install a head unit...all kinds of things I'm probably forgetting. You have to look in the right places. I'd still be rocking my Duals & my Lanzar amp if not for youtube lol What sundown recommends for rms power. -

Just dont over power them because of you tube . -

They both have to much power for a daily driver. Lawl...and why is that? If he dont set the gain and filters right 1600 for a 1200rms subs total it to much. why does everybody think they can over power their subs? -

A dcon sounds good in this box.
