Thanks Andrew! Sorry I didn't update this thread, but I got the system tuned with the sealed box and it is awesome! I won't be needing the ported at the moment, but when I get another car in the near future, I'll be needing another box. Sorry for wasting your time, Seth

I currently have a sealed enclosure from you (awesome build quality btw ) The output is perfect for rap, but leaves some to be desired for rock music as the kickdrum isn't quite as powerful as I would like. In talking with Aaron, he thinks I may want to look into going the ported route. May max dimensions are: Height - 14" Depth - smallest possible Width - 36" Frequency - 28-33hz Internal Area - 1.25cuft Options: Flush mounted Standard port Black carpet Oh and on the internal diameter of the sub, a hair bigger than recommended works. I had you do the 9.25" internal diameter on the sealed and I needed to shave off a hair since the sub caught the edge on the top of the spider surround (no biggie, it was an easy fix since my buddy had some wood tools laying around). It was a little under .25" that we took off I believe. If shipping wasn't so much, I'd just send the sub to you lol. No rush on getting the design since I'll have to save up for it a little bit. Thanks, Seth

Thanks! I can't wait to see it!

Hey guys, any updates and did y'all receive my paypal payment? Thanks!
-
I can do that. When is the remaining balance due? Could I just get it started and pay the remaining when I want it shipped? Worst case is I pay the remaining balance about mid-month as I'm currently not living where I would need the box shipped to, but I will be there about mid-December.

I sent an email a little while ago, but I figured I'd go ahead and start a thread since I didn't see any hatch enclosures in here. I'm looking at getting a single 10" Dcon and need a semi-custom box built since the rear seats in the car are angled. My car is a 2005 WRX Wagon and I would like the box to rest against the rear seats in the trunk, with the sub facing the rear. I would like to keep as much trunk space as possible, while getting the most out of the sub at the same time. I would like flush mount, and possibly a double baffle (though honestly I have no clue what benefit this gives). I'm still debating on carpet since I love the rounded corner look. Here are the dimensions that it needs to fit into (I loosely took earlier but I will post again in the morning with more accurate ones): Height: 14" Width: 37" Depth: As low as possible, though 8" will be the minimum due to the sub depth needed I will also try and get the angle of the rear seat when I retake the measurements. Thanks for any help!

Oh ok, I see now. What methods of payment do you prefer?
-
Sorry, the option for a double baffle. I havn't seen that before so I was curious what it's purpose is. Thanks! Oh and that is an awesome price! I'll see when I can get the funds together and place my order.

Here is a drawing in Sketchup, sorry for my poorly written measurements earlier (I did leave out the extra .75" on each side in my description but it's right in my drawing, and yes I left the top off on purpose). I tested a mock cardboard box that measured exactly the same, except it was only 14" long, and I was very surprised at how much space it DIDN'T take up. I'm all for this rectangle enclosure. Oh and what is the point of a baffle inside the enclosure?
-
And these are the outside dimensions. I forgot about the flush mount, so the depth will be 8.75".
-
Wow, I just realized that I could extend the top depth to 8" and with that, I could just make a simple rectangle with a total inside volume of one cube. That's what I get for overanalyzing lol. So with that, how much would a 23" long by 14" high by 8" deep sealed box run me? And how much extra for carpet?

Hey Andrew, I did double check and the measurements are what I would like to go with. -Seth

I believe it is the final version. I will double check the height of the "base riser" today. I can send you the 3d sketchup file if you want as well. Thanks! -Seth

Hey Andrew (and others looking)! Here is my design for a sealed 1 cu ft enclosure. The dimensions are precise, so it should slide right in. I also indented the sides and recessed the sub, just like you guys would when constructing this. I wasn't daring enough to round the edges I kept it sealed due to me wanting the most trunk space, though length wise I have room to spare (over 10") if a ported will work that way. I think that the depth is the farthest forward I would like the enclosure to go as well. Attached to the base of the enclosure is an angled piece of wood. This is because my trunk slopes downward from the rear seats, and then levels off. I had a pretty ingenious way of finding the slope and it is correct, so the face of the sub enclosure should be right at 90 degrees. This "leveling piece" extends all around the enclosure, but I don't think it necessarily has to be one giant piece of wood since it is merely for support. Anyhow, here is the picture with dimensions. Let me know what ya'll think!

Thanks Andrew! I'm currently building a box in sketchup and I'll post it here to see your opinions.

Hey Aaron, I'm glad to be here! Looks like a pretty good place to get a ton of info.
