so the time has come to start my build log, 02 Monte Carlo SS with 4 15" F.I. BTL N2's with 2 sundown 4500's and the 100.4 for all the mids, 4 infinity kappa 6x9's and 2 6 3/4" kappas in the door powered by Mechman H.O. alt with 5 XS Power 14v batteries,Pioneer AVH-p5200bt and a shit ton of 0 gauge wire ( yes in ky that is an actual measurement) also have the viper 5902 Tear down starts FEB 8th, will keep pictures updated as progress continues. thanks everyone, just got my car back today, everything is fixed except for the body work which starts monday, so by the end of next week she should be lookin brand new!! after body work the new box will be installed and you know ill have pics updated daily!!, ill try tomorrow to get some carnage pics of the right side of my car lol

Thursday night i feel asleep at the wheel in my monte carlo ss (sober) on the way to see my mom and work on my car and ended up smashing a guard rail doing about 60mph and did alot of damage, pics to come... been laid up in bed with whiplash. I wear my seat belt 99.9% of the time...except for this night all audio equipment is fine and my car should be fixed by the end of this week, then the new wall goes in !!

new box should be finished in the next 20- 30 days. will keep pics posted as progress continues

I loved my single 12" W7 with the H.O. vented box and the jL 1000/1 amp made about 142 db and sounded great so i have nothing bad to say about the W7 Now i have 4 FI BTL N2 15"s with two sundown 4500's and 6 14v batts etc.. You should be very pleased with your purchase.

sweet yep also taking buds idea and doing all 4 15's on one side and the port on the other side behind the drivers seat, still deciding on the port. well that was the entire game plan since day one, once everything was in i tried to call Bud at least 5 times that week and never got an answer or a call back so i figured either he was to busy or didn't wanna do it anymore and i didn't wanna blow his phone up so i quit calling him. We talked at Casper about the whole situation i guess he thought i was mad or something but i wasn't what so ever, he said i should have left a message but i never leave voice mails, but here is the deal... all last summer i was on his team (Bangin on a Budget) and i learned alot from him, i think he most def knows all the in's and out's of building what i needed but he just quit calling me all together so i had to have someone else build it. congrats to Bud for winning Loudest in Louisville Friday night. ("Ive got a letter for you and its really loud " haha you know what that means if you seen his van,i have great pics of it but im sure he doesn't want them posted on here.

Nope, im not paying them a penny more, they offered to rebuild the entire box for free so im not gunna blast the name of the shop on here but it sucks because i put everything together the last 3 months for that one day.... there are plenty more shows this year but nothing like Carl Casper.

ya i made it there... but just barely lol before we left for Louisville we did some testing and in the process the front of my box just exploded apart.. so i pull up to Casper with a busted up wall that im holding up with one arm the entire way there, I get pushed inside(because u cant have the car on) pay the $100 entry fee to do both spl and park and pound. At this point im not even sure if im going to even be ready to compete, so i pull everything out on the floor and line all the subs by the car as people are walking by met a few really cool guys from team IAK, had alot of help from team LOCO finally got everything in turns out the box which i payed a local guy to make was no where near as strong as it needed to be nor was it even built the right way what so ever... it looked good but with that much power i should have had a much much higher score. ended up with a 146.0 db in m4(which is terrible) and a 128.9db in db4 park and pound(drive by spl) which is still terrible considering what it should have been. I placed 4th in db4 so i dident qualify for Sunday. I was so upset over everything that i dident even go Sunday to watch the finals, so turns out i get a text message saying one of the guys in db4 was disqualified for whatever reason and they called my name to run so i would have placed third if i had went Sunday. I still had a great time and the highlight of the night for me was watching the hydraulic competition and watching all the cars pretty much blow up and shoot sparks everywhere. I must have seen about $50,000 go up in smoke. most impressive part of the night was watching Hank and those 48 10"s slam and shake the entire building during his park and pound run. So to end this update my car goes back in the shop either Tuesday or Wednesday and the box will be completely rebuilt and i will share all the updates. sorry no videos but here are sum pics that i took,

thanks everyone, im keeping the passenger seat out for Casper bc i will be in M4 class so its not needed lol Hell, i may just keep the passenger seat out for a few weeks. as for videos i will have my cam at casper tomorrow so that will be my first video that i post up.

Honestly.. this is the cleanest build log i have seen on SSA your car looks amazing, quick question for ya, with all of the added weight have you done anything to the rear suspension or braking system? The reason i ask is because i have added appx 800lbs into my Monte Carlo SS and im having a weight issue, i dunno i guess i will have to put on adjustable struts and new springs to solve the problem. Just wanna know what your thoughts are on this.

really?? i emailed dc power 2 months ago and got a ticket number or something anyways a 220 was the biggest i was told would bolt on to my car i called just about everyone, ended up getting a 275 amp Mechman wish i knew u made a 390 can u please send me pics and prices to my e mail so i can quit jacking this thread ( sorry op) my Mechman has still never been used yet, i would much rather have the 390!! thanks for the fast response but as far as i know youall don't make an alternator big enough for what i need. if u made one that would still bolt on to the Monte Carlo with between 300-350 amps i would be all over that in a heart beat !!!

that looks really good, like anything in life you get what you pay for, sucks how long it took to be shipped out but but in my opinion well worth the wait quick question to sneak in this thread, (DC POWER) can u make me a dual alternator bracket for a 02 Monte Carlo SS 3.8L

5 XS Power 14v batts ,275 amp Mechman alternator,lots of 0 guage wire and soon to be an external XS Power 14v batt charger to maintain voltage twice a week I should be making close to 6,000 watts RMS per Sundown 4500 with my voltage level, I have 2 plus the 100.4 for my infinity's. kinda overkill really, subs are only rated at 2,000 RMS Lets see what happens shall we??

you have no idea how bad i wanna go!! only problem is all four 15's are brand new and will not see any power until this friday. taking virgin subs to Casper=coming home with blown subs. I'm going to take her easy for a week or two before i unleash Hell !! They won't have any problem, if anything they are stronger now than when they are broken in. The suspension is the stiffest it will ever be. really?.... Hu, I have always been told to break in your subs before reaching high levels. I dunno now, i may just go depending on if i can get off work in time

ive got plenty of bracing !!! Hard to see but this is plexiglass covering the batterys, i have a wood insert just like the one covering the fuses that sits on top should be finished by friday but it looks like i will not be attending Carl Casper auto show this year. Just way to much to do and that would leave me little to no time to tune this BEAST!!

thanks man, i just hope i have the subs broken in for Carl Casper Auto Show at the end of this month in Louisville Ky can someone tell me if playing a particular tone or rang of HZ for long periods of time on and off throughout the day will safely break in my woofers faster?? I have heard it takes about 30 days in a daily scenario, can someone chime in on this subject......what is the safest/fastest way of breaking in woofers?? esp my woofers( particularly the N2 15" BTL's) Thanks and plenty more pics to come!!
