Bass is bass 160 db is 160 db regardless if it "plays music" or not thats still loud as fuk and hard to do. Edward "UpGrade" is always testing and experimenting with his trunk settup just to reach the 155 mark. Congrats and props on the 160.

Sweet score! 31hz is pretty low.. Bet it pushes some air.

So, I heard Skar can handle some power...
orlando144 replied to JPed2563.1's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
The OP asked a question and gets thrown with "garbage/ssa dcon is better"? Come on guys! If I remember correctly the w3's are rated at 500 rms. Like stated above, alot of the time you think your putting 1000 watts to a 300 watt sub but box, vehicle, music being played isnt taken into consideration. Impedance rises and in reality that "300 rms"sub will not take a big ammount more than what its rated at. So you most likely downgraded unless you dropped ohm load on your amp with the Skar's. -
With the proper box and clean power im sure the bl's will cope with the power you want to put to them. Ive owned and have experience with alot of Fi's subs from first gen Q to Sp4's even the X. People told me it was a waste of time and money to build a box with a subs forward port back config. in an suv... I built the box and i got results tohelp me out pic subs/box size, tunning, power, etc in the future. Ask...Get an idea... Make a choice...And test. Just my thought.

Sweet build!

nice man! SSA is on the competitor map now lately. My friend had an impala with a single btl n2 15 on about 3k rms and it got down really nice! 2 15's should be interesting.

Have you decided on what subs you will be using next?
-
so what happened to you and sundown? Any updates on your car?
-
also depends if you will get the 4" coil version of the Fi

Is an email with an update too much to ask?

What happened to your motor? Is it shifted or something? -
what do you meter? suurbans seem hard to get loud in.
-
Dam! Im missing out on alot of this forum.. 151 you beat me! I always tell people when they hear my system that there's a trunk car that is just as loud... Now your actually louder! Congrats!

Nice man! I am doing 3 15's in a 02 tahoe. The Sa's should be a nice upgrade from the Cvr's.

Kicker Solo X DISCONTINUED! RIP SOLO X!
orlando144 replied to kryptonitewhite's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Never was really impressed with Solo X setups.. But as stated before.. I think Kicker has noticed other companies taking overthe "Loud" market. Im suprised the Warhorse hasn't been discontinued as well. I even feel like the JL Audio W7 era has died down alot lately too. -
Its getting down! I seem to find alot more people liking Psi now.

I just built two sealed enclosures for a guy for his 2 JL w3 12's, both the same to go on opposite sides of his car. Each being 1.3^ft without displacement of the sub, I tested my Sundown sa-12 in there and it did suprisingly well. You will need quite a bit of power to get decent output out of this sub sealed... I ran 2200 rms and it was clean and loud for a sealed.. But not a "wow" type. Overall I would say the Sa-12 did great in the sealed. It was pretty acurate Overall

When i was younger i would think Funky Pups were what they were hyped to be... The motors using metals from some middle eastern countries, able to hit 170+ db...
-
Haha damm i wasn't evdn like that in my middle school years.Dude needs to grow up.
-
And other companies that they OEM'd for had the motor before the Q. Actually that "style" of motor was designed before Fi was formed. Just meant out of the 2 subs being compared.
-
Fi had the Q look like both of those subs first.
-
Haha niceeee! Kinda when my cousin had some Sundown 10's and blew away boys with 12's and 15's. Good stuff man, SSA making good impressions!
-
I used to own 2 Mayhem 15's myself. They are extremely stiff at first and by "middle" i assume he means broken in as it is hard to get one of these subs loose. They take gobs of power and sound pretty good for being an spl oriented sub. Over time the coils may have some rise in impeadence, .9 isnt all that bad, even some air can make the coil read diferently. $330 is a great price!

American bass amp
orlando144 replied to Wildbill76's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
The new Audiopipe amps are some great amls. Put out really good power and seem to be on the efficient side from My experience. My cousin had one running on a Duralast gold, stock alt, and big 3 in 4 gauge and voltage didn't drop all that much. He got it for i think $130 shipped. -
Class 'D' amps heat voice coils more than class a/b?
orlando144 replied to JohnHinerman's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
So wouldnt thoretically a Class D amp be more efficient than one of their Class A/B amps? Therefore sending more power? Even if rated the same wattage? -
Dam! Good scores! I saw on your sig its on one bc2000? Pretty good for the power
