If you can sell the 18" and get a 15" Q.. Do it ported and You will notice just as much if not better accuracy on notes and gain putput by alot if enclosure is designed and built right. I loved my Q

What are your box specs? Playing notes below tuning may make the sub bottom out pretty easily. Both of those songs get down to around low 30's which means alot of cone movement..

Are your amps soundstream?

Adding another 15 to my current box?

The post i made was kind of off topic bringing in another sub into the talk.. @bassahaulic What box do you have for that Z 18 of yours? Specs? -
Whats up SSA! I have 2 Ascendant Audio Mayhem 15's running on a Soundstream dtr 1.3400 at .25 ohm (3400 rms @ .5 2200 rms @ 1ohm) I have the subs in around 6.2 cubic ft net and they get loud but im itching to get louder if i can... I can get 3 American Bass HD 15's dual 1's and wire to .67 ohm... But can i just make another hole in my box? Thats the most airspace available. Goals.. Hit 150 db (currently 149.1) Should i keep the 2 15's or get 3 ? If its a bad question/ idea input on that would be apreciated Thanks

Ive heard numerous setups with DD subs and amps Many competitors here in texas use DD. I have experience with the 9518's that a friend had but low end extension was like "thats it?" His Crossfire xsv2's are alot more musical and by far the best daily/spl sub ive heard Ive heard tuning low for a 9500 will not be good...? -

02 tahoe I know i have a huge trunk but room in the trunk is needed thats why im trying not to build over my current box There's a few things I would change in your enclosure for sure. What are some specs on it? How much port? What tuning? 8.9 cubic ft before displacements 6.2 after Tuned at 34 hz and 111 sq in of port I -

But don't get discouraged when the first attemp fails. Hands on learning is the best way to learn and succeed. SPL #'s take testing and building to reach your goals. Yeah SPL #'s are hard to gain after some point My manager is at 149.6 in his tahoe and were having a little battle to see who hits 150 first Tuning higher is my best bet on the same power -

When i metered 148.1 at 1 ohm and metered 149.1 same frequency... It sounded louder.. Noticably to where my ears started hurting/tickling Where at 148.1 i had to lean towards the dash to get that feeling on the ears. -

I actually love the mayhems but i would like to get louder. Cosmetically they look bad but my friend said he would buy them Seems kinda pointless ? I think ill keep the mayhems and just work with enclosure designs -

Port length is what is bad about adding port area.. If the subs have more air space with the same power will it possibly get louder? -

Seems reasonable about port area and tunning being thrown off Ill try redisigning a box and see what results i get Thanks for the help -

I tried a box tuned higher but it dosnt sound apealing to me. Any idea as to if a 6th order would get louder than a regular ported box? -
