vent length will be pic 2. Awsome truck man. That is going to look sick with the lift and tires!! Good luck with the build. I am tuned in
-
That is sick bro!~! i love those dust caps as well ABSOLUTE CARNAGE right there
-
Everthing is looking great Stef. I am definately tuned in for the duration of this build!
-
great pics man - keep em coming. That hyabusa rear tire is just insane!!!!!!
-
Is it necessary to ensure that both ports are tuned equally, or is the point to have two differntly tuned ports within the same box

Good luck with your decision. I know that a first system is always a fun ride and a lot of thought is put into it. I really think that any of the subs that you have listed you are going to be really pleased with. I know you are leaning towards a single 15, but if i were you i would re-visit the dual 12" option and run the SAX-1200d. Look into the SA-12 or the SKAR VVX 12. You can get a great deal on 2 of those subs, and the current SKAR audio deal is two subs with a free dual 12 box. Just my .02 =- let us know what you decide to go with

I use those same dayton posts that steph posted. I love them. They are so easy to use and the installation is neat an clean when finished. Just drill the hole suggested and tap her in.

I have a honda civic and i put mine in the exact same place behind the kick panels. I could find no other location that would work and it has not been a problem at all!! -
I got nothing!! good luck with your build

Man i think i like the blue halo with the clear lens - but i think what would look really nice with your style would be a red halo with a clear lense - that would match the helmet nicely - do they make one with a red halo???? or maybe even a clear halo with a red lense - i am just not sure i like the blue with the red?? love the bike bro - sweet -
i just read this thread from start to finish, and you did an incredible job. Awsome truck and awsome build!! the box looks great man.

I am running 750 watts RMS to one SKAR right now in a ported box with absolutely no problems.
-
I have one 12" SKAR on about 700 RMS and i absolutely love it!!! it gets down really low, pounds, and sounds super tight and clean doing it. I voted for the skars, although to be fair i am not personally familiar with the sound of the DC level 3's

That looks really nice!!! great wood working skills. I wasnt sure when i saw the first few pics, but painted and complete i am quite jealous.

Yes FunBogie, Ive looked at the recommended enclosure. I know what design Im looking for. My forum states that I have limited room due to replacing my shitty BOSE factory 6x9's they hang lower than expected. Also to note, my torsion bar is broke off weld from my previous box being too tall. I have to limit the height in order not to interfere with those. Would it work the same lowering the box and going deeper? Yes it would work. When you decrease the height dimension, you will increase the depth or width dimension to maintain the same internal volume. Does that make sense? This might make it easier because it has already calculated the port area for you and the exact recommended interior volume for your particular subwoofer. Just play with the recommended design dimensions until it works for you and has the same internal volume and port area. I wouldn't use their box recommendations. The "SQ" box is tuned to 40hz and the "SPL" box is tuned to 44hz. I will have to admit that i did not pay attention to what the boxes were tuned to. I completely agree with Bromo above. Sorry to lead you down the wrong path.

http://www.kicker.com/sites/default/files/2010%20CompVR%20f01.pdf a good place to start thinking about a ported box design in my opinion would be to look at the recommended enclosure from kicker on your particular subs. I think that the link above is for your subs. if you were doing two subs versus one you would double the measurements. just my .02 unless someone on the forum is willing to design a box for you

looks very nice. you can tell that you have put alot of thoughtful work into it. What size wheels are you running?

I just read this all the way through this morning, and i just wanted to say kick ass work man. That is one of the most beautiful boxes that i have ever seen. Truly amazing work sir!!! i bet that set up sounds amazing in that truck. Great work -

I hope that this is not considered "thread jacking", but i had a quick question regarding this topic. I am running a ported box in the trunk of a honda civic currently. What kind of difference does this configuaration make when sealing off the trunk with the woofer and port firing into the cabin? Just curious as i have never tried this method. Thank you and i hope that was close enough to topic

glad to hear you guys are ok - man that looks like it was a close call. f*ck'n drunk drivers
