  1. currently im putting it in a 05 expedition but if anything i prefer the sub facing back towards the door
  2. okay so i just finished cutting and sanding all the pieces of MDF for the new box i'm building.. i used the re audio box calculator and it is gonna be tuned to 32hz. the only problem is that i am not entirely sure if the location of the sub will affect sound quality. just wanna play it safe and get some feedback. the specs are 30'' wide x 17.5'' deep x 14'' high. if the exact calculations are needed ill put em up. thanks
  3. ThAnks guys . Ill make sure to try out your advice
  4. alright so about a couple weeks ago i installed an alpine cda 105 unit for my expedition and i realized i have a bit of alternator whine. i grounded all of my wires quite well and even double checked the harness. everything is straight but at one point the whine stopped then came back, im not sure what to do. also, i can hear noise from my headunit menu selection sometimes, for example if i switch the inputs or select certain options it makes a click noise through the sub, is this a ground problem all together, or maybe faulty rcas? simple advice would be sweet.. thanks, john.
  5. yeah the eq isnt that great but just the hu alone has made a huge difference.
  6. well i took it to the local audio shop today and it just so happens the rcas were put in backwards on the amp and a couple of the wires on the hu got yanked out. (i couldnt tell the difference of the plugs on the amp because they are both black). but the subs bumpin good now, i bought the alpine cda-105 hu today and i love it, i just need to mess around a bit with it and get used to it.
  7. my bass isnt as loud as i would like it to be on my sub and i really dont like turning the bass knob on the factory HU up all the way, i simply want suggestions for a good HU that is versatile and willl help me adjust the loudness and tune my sub a bit better.
  8. i want to make my music sound crisp and clean. Then an eq will just screw you up seriously bad. If you don't know what you need to do an EQ is NEVER the solution. In general the should be for removing anomalies, so if you know what ails your system lets start by trying to fix it without relying on processing. i believe i need a high pass filter, im sure that does come with every headunit right?
  9. well i just need to know what kind of eq's there are, i never figured it was that complex.
  10. i want to make my music sound crisp and clean.
