Can you make one of these threads that says "BTL" free cooling????
-
I wanted to, but it does not look like my suburban will be back together in time. . . .
-
What amp(s) are you using to get 3000 watts at 5 ohms? 122 volts is dangerous on the outputs Thanks! Brian
-
My 157+ at 36 Hz is pretty darn painful. . .

Have you tried moving the mic to the other side. Also try window open half way, all the way open, etc. vs. door open. I gained .4 dB going to the drivers side with the mic, even though my setup should be louder on the passenger side by design (subs passenger side, port driver's side). . . Brian

Where has Loyd "BIGBASSMAN" been?? He posted a few months ago on SIN and said he was back, but seems to be MIA again. . .

reduce gross box voume, since the port would not be taking up space?

So why not a 40.1????
-
WOW!!! How about I drive over there and we try out (4) of those in my wall. . . . . Brian
-
40.1's must be pretty darn strong. . . . .I only have two of mine in right now running them at 2 ohms each. That should be a total of 3600 watts to my (4) 15's. From the output and the amount of cone excursion I am getting, I am going to guess they may be putting a little more than 900 watts per driver. Going to be interesting to get all 4 installed running at 1 ohm each! Brian

Wish I had room for (4) more 15's!

Hi!!! I met you at Heatwave! Brian

These subs going to work good for daily?

It is one LOUD daily driver. . . .I have given more than one person a good panic attack! In case you have not seen a pic on another forum: Can't wait to see how the (4) 40.1's compare to the (8) US Amps MD3D's I had. Brian -
My friend just received his pair of these. . .will post a review when we get them going. Brian

Wow. . . and I just bought (4) 40.1's!!!! Brian -
The wording above sounds like you do not actually have them wired "strapped". If you truely have them wired strapped, then you have the (+) of the master amp wired ot the (+) of the load, the (+) of the slave amp wired to the (-) of the load, and the (-) of the master amp wired to the (-) of the slave amp. You should have A/C voltage between the (+) of the master amp and the (+) of the slave amp. Are these 06 or 07 style amps? Are you refering to the MLT function?

I can design it for you, but I see a problem. . .36" baffle width will be a problem with (2) 15's. By the time you add slot port(s) there is not enough width. Design with 4" aeroports ok? Or could put subs firing up and slot port rearward. . . Brian

I have all of the parts to build a pair of the M-T speakers that were on the old AA website. Anyone have a copy of these? I am ready to build a pair (parts have been in my closet for over a year), and cannot find the copies of the schematic and cabinet drawings I printed. . . Thanks! Brian

Is the Lanzar Opti 4000D and 6000D any good
BKOLFO4 replied to TribeamConnek's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Very similar to the Soundstream XXX-6500 and XXX-10000. I owned a Opti4000D. Loved it. Ran it on (4) AVA 15's for a couple of months, and then (16) Panasonic 10" for a couple of months. Never got hot, never had a problem. For this price, the opti6000D looks like a heck of an amp to me. . . . -
I am pretty sure there is not a "pole vent" in the bottom cap with any of the options, and the side vents are always there. Here is what the cooling options are: P Chamfer: This is a chamfer on the end of the pole, it helps to bring the air down around inside of the motor and helps cool the coil better. It also helps relieve the pressure underneath the dustcap. We recommend at the bare minimum to get this option if you choose this series of woofers. Cooling: Self explanatory, the cooling channels are machined into the inside of the sub to help cool the coil FAR better. But there are some things that you sacrifice. There is less metal inside of the motor so it is a little weaker. If you are looking for a fart/burp only scenario for SPL we suggest that you do NOT get this option. Stick with only the P chamfer. Now if you are looking for a daily sub to beat on and you have 2000+ watts the BTL series is for you. The Cooling option INCLUDES the P Chamfer.

Black00 brought me up to the SB4 state record in less than a week! Gained over 4 dB with the same equipment in the same vehicle. Long live Black00!!!!
