I just replied to your PM with pricing.

If the first response was correct, why do you need more??

Did not get universal coil...Possible to change?
BKOLFO4 replied to Mynameismcgyver's topic in General Fi
You have 0.5 ohm coils? Is that the DCR? -
Post up the maximum dimensions your box can be and someone will help you with a design. Port size and length will be defined by the box size. . . Brian

Could Y'all look at this and see if I'm breaking any rules?

When I have to turn 180, I route a notch and install pvc to make a smooth curve. -
In my setup, with same box and amps, the new btl was a little louder, but just listening to them it was hard to tell the difference.
-
Won't hurt anything. . .

Dual 2 ohm for the Hifonics amps. Save a little more oney and at least get the Crunch 3000 pro. http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=18538 Brian

So daily driving, not pure SPL. If it was me, I would go ahead and get cooling and HiXmCoil. May not need them now, but if you are like 99% of the people installing these subs, you will eventually want more power and louder. . . You will want daily, universal, and your voice coil impedance will depend on the amp you choose. Brian
-
Pretty much the old style BTL. Fully loaded with full cooling, 3rd slug, long coil. Daily and universal.

The quality of the goldwood boxes is great. Bad thing about the ported box is they don't give full dimensions to check the port math. Let me call my contact at goldwood tomorrow and see if he can get me full dimensions of that box. Brian

Any of those will work.. Pick the one that best fits where you want it to go. I would add about 1 lb of polyfill to which ever one you choose.
-
If this is for daily, I would get the cooling option and HiXmCoil. . .Dont really need the induct heat ring. Cooling for $40 vs. P-Chamfer for $10. I would pay the extra $30 to keep everything cooler. . . Specify Daily and Universal. Brian

700-750 per woofer. 1400-1500 total. Brian

Man been sick for a week or so. Finally took pics of the van. Need to go pick up the "new" passenger side door. Ripped the headliner out to start building a new one out of fiberglass. Air springs came in for the rear. Got (5) more batteries last week. Two more mayhems shipped Thursaday. If all goes to plan, starting the wall on Tuesday. Will keep the build updated, since it looks like we will finally be getting started. Brian

MTX pluged the pole and vented the top years ago. . . .

If you want to hit them with about 700 watts each. I have used a couple of XT amps in low budget installs I have done. Decent amps for the money. . .

What are the maximum dimensions? If the trunk is big, but the opening is small, can you install it through the back seat opening with the back seat out? You can also build it in two pieces and then attach them once inside the trunk. . . Brian
-
The BL and BTL cool through the upper vents. If you take that bolt out, good chance you just screwed up your woofer, and there still would not be a vent. . .

No original basket recone kits. If you send it to AA for recone, they will use different soft parts from what is in there now, so you would have to recone both if you want them to match. With shipping costs, you would be better off to sell the good one and put the money toward whatever you new setup will be. Brian
-
Are they the new style, or the older ones (stamped steel basket, or aluminum 12 spoke)? I would have to ask Scott what he can do if it is an old style. . . Assuming new style, you would save some money if you can recone yourself. If you ship it for AA to recone, I am going to guess it is not worth the expense due to added shipping costs. If you are interested in a price on new Assassins, give me your zip code, and I can have the correct person contact you with a quote. Brian

Anyone ever use these? Hope they are decent. Looking around at prices on 6.5-7" monitors, looks like a great deal at Sonics for $140 shipped! Picked up the Kenwood DDX812 and these two monitors for my Silverado. Brian

I have a sinus infection right now from building a box last Tuesday. Went to the Dr yesterday and got my antibiotic (first trip to the Dr in 3 yrs ) MDF with no mask always makes me sick. Stupid me for building without a mask on!!! Brian

Test and tune. If you want it the loudest, get extra 6" tubes and install the ports at maximum length, test. Cut some length off, test. repeat until no length left. determine which length was loudest and use it. Brian
