I recently built a box almost identical to what you are looking for. . .Here is the modified version to fit your dimensions: Brian

You are driving the sub at or just over RMS, but if you are tuned at 32 with a 28 Hz filter, somthing may be wrong if you are going over excursion. Post up the complete dimensions of your box so we can make sure it is not tuned higher than you think it is. Brian

Glad you got them!

AA is now owned by Scott, the owner of Fi. AA products are sold through dealers, Fi is sold direct on the internet. You will read here and there that they are the same products, but there are differences even though people seem to think are the same just from the outer looks. Scott has recone kits for the Avalanche, or he can recone them for you if you cannot recone it yourself. What is your zip code and I can get you a quote.

Fixed the side window latches tonight (the plastic latch was broken, but now aluminum brackets hold the windows closed ). Painted the inside of the rear windows flat black. Dropped the nut on the (+) output of the alt trying to get the charge wires on and it is stuck in the frame. . . went to Lowe's and picked up a couple of new ones. That is all for today. Both boys are playing football and it takes up Tues and Thurs nights and most of the day on Saturday!!!

So you need to see a VIDEO of one havoc sub to see if you want it over a pair of JBL subs??? If that is how you are going to judge, just watch a video of 2 havocs and only concentrate on one of the subs while you watch. . .

PM me your question and I will ask him next time I talk to him. . .

Nick normally responds quickly. . .That is @ficaraudio.com, right?

That is the song I used in bass race with my suburban. The suburban box was tuned to 34 Hz and that song was a killer. Funny, I started with (2) MT 18's, went to (4) MT 15's, then did (4) BTL 15's, and the last setup was (4) AA Mayhem 15's. It was (4) 15's in 12 ft^3 tuned to 34 Hz. 4000-4500 per driver and without the subsonic filter set correctly, I could have mechanically destroyed the subs. . . Brian

No tool. The way they are made, they will only fit in one position, and then the spring mounting holes are slotted to allow the spring to adjust on the mounts. We will see. . . Brian

You have (6) 13W1's and you are going to replace them with (2) 15" BL's? You are cutting your cone area to almost 1/3. . . . Are the w1's sealed or ported? You going to port the BL's??? I would think about (4) 15" SSD's ported if you could make the new box 20-21" tall.

Please don't go back to that shop. . .

How will a pair of these strapped on 0.5 ohms (If they like stupid low impedances like the old 20.1) compare to the 40.1 on 0.5 ohms?? Brian

Spider bite that came out from under the seat in a rent car!!!!!! The marks look far apart in the picture because they are the closest thing to the camera. If you compare them to something like my thumbnail, they are not that wide. . .

What configuration is the old BTL?
-
3.2 total, or each sub????

Not sure if skip took pics of his arm, but my cousin got bit by one last weekend (not in my shop ). This was just a couple of hours after the attack!!

Got the alternator installed. Had to do some drilling, but it is on. Much larger than the factory alt. . . Received my SX remote in the mail. Bought an Audiocontrol Matrix line driver.

excessive amperage
BKOLFO4 replied to truckaudioman's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I ran a EA 250 amp on my suburban for a couple of years. (7) D31T and (2) 34/78 yellow tops. Never had a problem. Went with Mechman on the van. Little cheaper and his warranty/rebuild program is awesome. Price was also a little cheaper than what EA quoted me, even with a return customer discount. Brian -
Wire the cols in series and run the sub on one amp at 4 ohms. When the second amp arrives, wire one amp to each coil of the sub. . .they do not have to be strappable to run two of them on a DVC sub. . . Brian

Glad to hear you are ok!!!!

They are related - Fi is the internet company, AA is the dealer based company. Drivers are similar, but they have differences. They may not be night and day, but there are small differences that Scott has created between the two. AA also has the Assassin and Arsenal lines, as well as the 7" carbon fiber mids and the tweeters. Brian

Dude I run them!!! Awesome for a high SPL daily sub. There is just something about them that I really like. They get low, but they still have the good hard chest pounding bass that reminds me of a good pro-sound sub. They are always built the same, not optioned like the BTL, so I think AA keeps some of them in stock.
