Well, i was trying to talk to the 'new guy' at my local audio shop. And we started talking about what we had, and i was telling him i was trying to sell my Type X's to get a Fi Q. Supsrisingly he has actually heard of Fi, but he was very closed minded towards them. ANYWAYS, he ended up telling me he had four Type R's 12" in a ported box, in an Impala like mine! So, i went out to get a demo. Pretty loud i guess, but he was trying to tell me he has hit 154db. Considering that his box looked fairly small for 4 12's i doubted it. I guess im just rattled that people like that can get a job but when i apply i dont even get an interview. >.>

Geez, 0.25 ohms? Thats crazy. -
Ok now so iv tried to calculate the internal volume and it seems that its bigger than i thought, im guessing that takes into account the displacement of the aero. So now because my port is going to partway out of the box, how will i take that into consideration while calculating? Or will the difference not really matter?

Well i was close! so Not too bad for my first time^^. Looks like ill be building this box soon.

Alright, well i saw a local add up, and look what i ended up getting! BTL N2 18" Picked it up used for $380. Looked pretty good in shape, im not going to be picky because Fi subs are very few up where i live. The only real 'damage' that i saw was the surround was a little bit frayed, but not too much. Here's a picture of it. Anyways! Im stoked. Somebody local has a Soundstream TDX2000D for sale so im pretty sure ill be picking that up to power this baby. All i need is my box design and i should be murdering my Impala.

Here is the link to my box design ideas. This is the first box iv ever designed so i dont know how far i am, i really appriciate everyones input.

Ok, so i figured it out i think.. This is my box design i came up with myself.. so if its totally wrong just tell me but i think im pretty close. So because of the lack of space in a trunk, I was thinking going with 7 cubic feet of box area. Height = 18" Depth = 30.5" Width = 31" Ill have two 6" Aeroports, each 10.5" long to give me a total 21" of port length which should give me a 32hz tune? (I used the psp calculator, hopefully i did it right) What do you guys think? Isnt complete with bracing ideas yet but its a rough idea what ill need to do.

Oo, it does have a little bit of surface rust on the motor >.> Didnt notice that.. Going to need to sand that off.
-
He played... dubstep. lol And yes, my body was no where near being raped so. I call bs.

Ok so, Measured the full trunk space, Iv got 39" of clearance for my trunk opening at the largest spot. So if you could make it a bit smaller than that it would be nice.. Iv got 33" of depth and Still 19" of height is MAX. 18.5" would be nicer. The 33" of depth puts me a little past the edge of the 6x9 speaker cutouts. So the aero ports would have to be Very close to the back edge of the box. Sub facing towards the back of the trunk would be nice so i can see it whenever i want.

4-Channel Cutting Out.

Ok, After trying out plugging the RCA's into different inputs, i found out that i THINK the RCA cables are worn, along with the amp itself. Kind of like a piston and its cylinder. Most of the speakers will cut in and out if connected with their correct inputs. But if i switch them around, rear cables to front input, and front cables to rear input. All the speakers work? So i guess its best off to say i need to buy some new cables and everything will be ok. -
Ill get that full demo sometime this weekend
-
Well ill ask him for his demo with FULL AMPS Ill see if it affects my breathing

Hey said "My amps are only at like 20%" I was thinking that made no sense. And when he turned it up, i felt a little pressure.. But it didnt even seem that loud.. idk.
-
I never said there was anything wrong with them at all. I personally like Alpine. And i did get a demo, but sadly iv never really heard any other systems. It definitely didnt sound like 154. But he told me his amps werent even turned up all the way? Idk sounded like an excuse to me. and Tire i understand what your saying and i dont think im any better than liking these not as well known brands, he was just very closed minded and ignorant. Anyways, whether im right or wrong i just needed to rant for the sake of letting it out.

Must say, very clean. Right down to the AA logo on the box. Awesome.

I have recently purchased 2 Sets of Bravox CS50K components off the SSA Store. I noticed that it was taking a while to process and i got a call from Mark. He told me that there was only one set of components left and suggested that i get 2 sets of IA's because they had enough in stock. I decided to save some money and only end up getting 1 set of the Bravox's. (I got the last ones ). But anyways i thought this was great of them to do. Iv ran into many websites that will just cancel your order all together if something like this happens. Instead i ended up getting a friendly call. Thanks Mark, and the SSA Store.

So, I was just looking up on Kijiji (Canadian classifieds) and somebody is looking to trade his Two 14"? PG Competition subwoofers for a wakeboard. Anyways, he tried to say that these subs get up to 200db off of 400 watts. I just thought this was pretty funny. Post some exaggerations you found hilarious?

Iv read many a thread talking about caps and well, nobody likes them ^^. So what i was thinking about doing, instead of just chucking it, would it be possible to remove the LED display and wire it upfront to be used as a voltmeter? Opinions?
