Saw it on a few different threads over the interwebs. Alan Hall did a 160.2 at a 3x usaci meet. He's running two 15" Tantric HDD's and two RD D9 amplifiers. Damn Great score.

145.xx sealed with both subwoofers.. SSA ftw.

Not sure if this is a total fail or an epic win yet..

Alright guys.. Ill give you my opinion coming from experience in my trunk of having an 18" BTL firing up. Even though it gets fairly loud (142.xx), two 12" subwoofers with port and subs firing rearward will be better and im 99% sure of it. Also the sa-12's that you heard that didnt hit low very well was because of the install. Subs will hit any frequency you really want them to, it all depends on the install, if you like lows, tune your box low and thats what youll get. Im redoing my system with two 15's so that i can face my subs either rearward or forward instead of having to fire them up. If it were my opinion, get two 12" SSA Icons (cost about the same as a BTL) and you wont be happier.

Iv been doing some research in advance of me competing next year. Although I will be doing a ton of testing on the termlab once I start building my setup, I wanted to get a starting point as it will obviously make things a bit easier. Basically my main question is going to be if anyone has actually tested the correlation between vent mach and spl readings. Iv been reading that best results come out of about a 0.05% vent mach in a build, but on the other hand you see high powered, high sd setups only using 8" aeroports that are putting up huge numbers. I may be over-thinking this, I'm just trying to grasp as many concepts as possible before I start testing so that I can make the best result possible with my build. Thanks for the help in advance.

All good answers guys. Thank you so far. -
Correlation Between Vent Mach and SPL

Yes Im basically asking if there is a "optimal" port velocity in order to achieve maximum SPL. Obviously there are many many variables, but like I said, I just want a starting point, even if there is one. Not sure and this is why im asking. -
Agreed, how does the level 5 compare?

Christmas you say... Ill have two 15's please. -
Apparently that car runs on stupidity since they covered the fuel fill door. I personally like the ported woofer on the rear window.

Many many knowledgeable people on this site that love giving advice. Welcome, and any break down on what we might be seeing?

Hard to know, best way to know what will be loudest is to test test test.

Okay fine.. Soon they will come. -
Well, the price was just too good. I went along and got the Visonik and love how it looks. Old school red colour to it, and its pretty damn big. Looks like my next step will to be getting those Icons. Might take a few guts pictures when I get home after work today, wasnt enough time in the morning for it.

wtt ab vfl150.1 & jl w7 10 for saz2500/3000 or something simular
MikeMartel replied to SMpaintball78's topic in For Sale/Wanted
Lantz Im slightly confused here. Why are you willing to trade both your AB 150.1 and a W7 for an amp that puts out the same power as the AB 150.1? American Bass amps are so solid and you wont do much better with a SAZ 2500. -

Nobody likes my new chit. -
I would say a 15" in a slot ported box would be louder. Now I dont have any experience with t-line enclosures, but based off cone area and how well these subs do in a ported box I think the 15" would be louder. As far as an amp suggestion, find one that meets both the subwoofers rating and one that fits your budget aswell!
