Prob so, the 360 I use to have was a lil bigger than that.

Thats not a P3000 looks like a Kicker ZR series amp, not sure what model.

Would a pair tuned to 30hz give me a good amount of low end? Should I tune lower? Subs are going in the trunk of a 04 Ford Crown Victoria, port and subs rear firing. Would a 1500d running at .5 ohm be too much power for them or just right? Already have the amp, just took a notice to these subs recently and all the positive feedback on them. Any help or nudge in the right direction is greatly apperciated, thanks.

I considered that too denim, but I wanted to make sure that I was feeding them enough power. Would they peform as well off of 1500 watts? Or is it really worth trying to run my Sundown that low daily to gain a lil more output?
-
I most certainly will. The Icons seem like some very capable drivers and right up my alley. Im going to do a build log as well.

Cool thanks for the info.

Very much so, the orginal plan was a pair of 1500ds on a pair of Audioque HDc3s, but dont have the financies to build a solid enough electrical to support them. For the ICONs, I was think about a 200 to 250 Alt, Deka batt under the hood and a Deka G31 in the trunk to support the 1500d and my mids and highs amp. How does that sound?

Would you guys buy amps or subs off ebay?
tez4life replied to Lifted03Silverado's topic in General Audio
Its been a mix bag for me on Ebay. First amp I ever bought was a four channel Rockford Fosgate that was suppose to be from a rep dealer, turned out to be total crap. Amp worked fine for a while, but when it warmed up, made a horrible high whinning sound through the speakers. Was not worth the effort sending it back, so I sold it to a friend for the low, (after I explained what it was doing of course!). Few months ago, purchased a Orion 4002 from a private seller for $100 and use that amp everyday, never had one problem with it. Just be carefull out there, and read the auction completely. If it seems too good to be true, it usually is!!! And for the record, Sundown Audio amps are extremely nice, easly do rated power and then some, plus the owner is a really easy going guy!! -
Nice, im quite envious of you!

Not to thread jack, but thats a idea I had for my trunk, doing a kind of floating amp rack and leavin the center part free for the subs. Im curious, what type of setups and subs have you did in crown vics? I had 4 12s in my for about a year (AA assassins) but looking for something new.
-
I got a 04 Crown Vic. In the center part of my trunk, I have 41" x 25" x 23" of free space for a enclosure. That still leaves space on both sides of the box for additional batteries, and the packgage shelf under my rear deck to mount my amps. Trust me, just about anything full size and rear wheel drive should have the room but not always.
-
Wow, that some serious flex on one of the "non flexing sounds", lol. Nice job!
-
Carguy83, whats the outer measurments of the new box? Just curious.
-
Very nicely constructed box. I liked the old setup, but that new box is looking sexy as hell, looking forward to hearing the finally results. Good stuff!!!
-
That makes since, and I think that answer my question pretty well, thanks for the feedback guys!

Ok heres the deal. I have a 04 Crown Vic, front stage only no rear fill and the rear speakers removed from the deck. I have been seriously looking into getting a pair of Q 15s for the last few months but a few things have come up with the family that has side tracked me but Im on point now. I have a pair of Orion 1200d for power but heres my question. I see the new options for the Qs and was considering selling my Orions and picking up a Hifonics XX Thor. I also considered a pair of fully loaded BL 15s with the power I have but I just dont know. I am coming from a background of mainly sealed boxes and this would be my first in my own install. ( I have assisted and listen to several ported boxes and enjoy the additional output!) Really, I would like to do a pair of 15 BTLs and two XX Thors, but I dont have the money right now for the electrical upgrade I would need. What Im really asking is would it be worth the effort to get the Thor and feed the Qs the extra 300w? Or should I look into the BLs? Music wise, I listen to everything but I like my low end which is one of the reasons I leaned more toward the Qs than the BLs. Any help is greatly apperciated thanks guys!!!! FI FTW!
