Is this all goin in a Expendition? My cousin has a 01 and I can give you some advice on how to take those doors off, its very simple.

I kind of understand what your going through. I have about a good 11 cubic feet of free trunk space in the center of my 2004 Ford Crown Vic. Thats enought room for a pair of 18" RL-ps sealed, but I kind of want to try ported for the additional output I could do a wall behind the front seats, because I never ride with people in the back, but I like being able to see out my rear window. I say do the pair sealed, you will still get a good amount of output due to cone surface area, power increase, and its not like the RL-ps are quiet sealed

3 ICON 10D2s Build log > 2006 Toyota Solara
tez4life replied to Mark LaFountain's topic in Build Logs
This is going to be a fun build, very nice work so far, that box looks good! -
Merry Christmas to everyone on this great forum

Nice vid, I think its really the first one anyone has done with the new AA subs. I like the Arsenals, that was suppose to be my upgrade from the Assassins I had been running, but Im looking more at the Havocs now. That was some nice flex in the Tahoe/Yukon looks loud. How does it do down low? And whats the tuning?
-
Nice, a lil flashy, but seems like a solid sub, I hope you enjoy it. Good pics FTW.
-
Very nice "drools", those subs look massive lol. And your avatar is killing me lmao!

Not to jump subject, but that sounded excellent, what kind of mids and highs are you running? how can you possibly get "that sounded excellent" from that? you were hearing your computer speakers.... True, but ive been looking to do a active setup with the Mach 5 mids and thats prob the only vid I have seen them playing in. True enough Im listening through computer speakers (headphones actually), I was not sure that they would produce midrange that well (knowing that they are midbass machines). I just commented on how I felt it sounded to me.

1st Place trophy for SSA ICON's
tez4life replied to Mark LaFountain's topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
Congrats on the win, Icons are great subs and this just reinforces that ever so much : ) -
Wow, that looks like its going to be a impressive build, considering its your "temp" pounder lol. Looking foward to how this comes out, nice equipment by the way,
-
That is insane as always but what do you expect? Nice job meade, motavation as usual, thanks!!
-
With that power, why not run a FI Q? Im sure the the SSD could handle the power if your careful, but the Q would, to me, be a better choice.
-
I agree, its nice to play around with but adds seriously too much distortion to the bass. I also likes how the orginal poster considers 92, 93 to be "old school". That really makes me feel old and im only 30
-
Nice, this looks like its going to be very promising...
-
Not to thread jack but since we on subject, would the MLI65 work well as a midbass for a horn setup? Possibile along wtih a set of ID mini pros?
-
sounds good Mark....

Sundown 1500ds can be found for $400 all day here and on the web. I sold my used for $300 not too long ago, still miss that amp
-
Sundown 1500d is a perfect match for those SSDs, very clean sounding and underrated.
-
Currently in limbo, may or may not happen. We will see....

(2) Havocs 18s, 11 cubic feet before sub and bracing displacement, powered by a pair of Sundown 1500ds sounds good? Reason im asking is thats the free space I have ava in the center of my trunk, the amps I have (well I only have one), and based on another forum members review and advice on his single, I thought about doing two. Would that be enough airspace? Too much power?
-
Quite understandable Mark, thats very true every car is different. I know that everything that Mach5 has put out has had very nice SQ and im pretty sure this will as well considering what it was build for. If nothing else, I just enjoy looking at it lol, its a really good looking sub, thanks for the input.
-
very impressive, im curious how they would work sound wise in a daily app? Being SPL subs, of course I know that its not going to have the best SQ but its not design for that. Still be able to drop low? Maybe a pair running off a pair of 3000d's strapped?

Happy birthday Mike, enjoy yourself!!
