Looks good to me! What're you going to put over the wood? Carpet/paint?
-
I've never had a problem with it, but I've only built three boxes with it. Which do you prefer?

http://www.reaudio.com/LPort_Box_Calc.php This is the calculator I use to tune my boxes, and it's worked well so far. But I have heard from people it's off with the tuning sometimes. But type in these options, from top to bottom. Box Width: 27" Box Height: 17.5" Box Top Depth: 17" Box Bottom Depth: 17" Wood Thickness: 0.75" Square Port Width: 2.25" Square Port Length 2: 12" Good luck Remember bracing and double baffle!

I found it through Fi's website as well! Great site to learn a lot on from such experienced members!

Two Fi SSD's would take 1500-2000 RMS watts total nicely, plus they are just under $200 per sub.. + shipping. Only problem would be the amount of space you would need for a ported box. You'd need at least 3.5 feet cubed for the 12's, or you could get the 10's and throw them in a box that's 2.3 cubes, just tune the box low and you'll get your low notes.

I know my local shop charges to take it off, and I'm pretty sure it's fairly simple. After seeing what you can do from this build log, I doubt taking tint off would be a prob lol + I'd like to see how you do it.
-
I have thought of that, but i forgot. You're a genius, I may just do that. 20 on the front 2 windows, 5 everywhere else? i wish there was a 10 or a 12... is there? lol I'd go 20% on the passenger and driver window, then 5% everywhere else, unless you don't feel comfortable with that. lol, and I know at both of my local audio stores you can get anywhere in between 5% - 45% in 5% increments, I THINK. That's all just off the top of my head though, so take it with a grain of salt.

Woooow, took me about three different reading sessions, but I'm finally done reading this awesome build log! Keep up the good work! Also, I'd try to tint that baby as quick as you can! I'm sure if the wrong person walks by and sees 4 12" subs sitting there he's going to jump on them. lol Very nice system though, and car!

Sounds loud, and lovely.

Looks like a bad ass box man!! Good job for your first time!

I just got an Incredible 2 just a couple days ago! I'm loving it.
-
BTL 15!! There's my biased opinion. Make sure you can get a box big enough back there btw!
-
Just curious, but does that effect the SSD's build time too? It's only business day 28 or 29 for me too, I ordered June 18th as well. I know you guys are doing your thing though!

My new hooptie, 1980 CoupeDeville. Bumping on a budget.

Just read all 11 pages, I love how it's such a unique build! Props! You're doing a great job with all the mods. -
2 BTL's would be fine off of that amp, you can't underpower a sub! but they don't mind if you ever wanted to upgrade ;D
-
If it's not to late you could always go with 3 10" Fi X's with the bp power option, that should be enough power handling for them to be wired at 1.33 ohms off of your amp, and who doesn't love running Fi? lol and btw, sounds like a fun build!

Good vid man! Looks like you can hit some killer lows.

Well... My RF P500-2 is dead, and I'm now in the business of looking for a new amp, any recommendations for me? I ordered a Fi SSD DVC 2-OHM, and my car is wired with 4 guage wire. I'd like to keep the price below 350 is possible. Thanks in advance..

there some little beasts man u gonna port it or seal it? I'm going to start working on the box today, I decided to do an L port box, and it's going in the trunk of my Mazda Rx8!! It's bigger for a 10" sub, 1.6 cubic feet! nice, goin for low end extension im guessing? I do love the low notes, but really just some air pressure in my ride is fine with me. I see you had your 10" in pretty big box for Fi standards too! How'd it sound?

Just bought my first 10" sub, SSD I can't wait! Thanks Duran for talking me into it! Now 30 days...

The old SSD's were 800. But there is no such thing as underpowering, you can put a BTL on your 500-2 and it will perform well. Oops, thanks for the correction on the wattage! I understand that you can't underpower the sub, but wouldn't the old SSD take the wattage more efficiently, which would in return create more sound? Thanks for the quick reply too! No, the power rating is only a general recommendation on the maximum amount of power to apply to the woofer, there are cases where it does not hold true, but it is accepted as true. The efficiency is a separate specification, and I am confident that Fi did not take a step backwards with the redesign of the SSD, it should be as good if not better than the previous version. Awesome! That's what I wanted to hear! Thank you! EDIT: You're almost at 10k posts! Gratz!
