    I know, the whole time I watched the vid. the first time, I almost didn't notice the voltage because I was too busy going whoa legit on the cd player "hidden" install LOL. That is so tight.

    I have this Sunday afternoon set aside for the install. It should only take me less than 30 minutes to do the install really (had stock alt off twice now). I have four different sized belts to try out as well. Obviously the stock size will be tried first. I will keep you updated asap. If you want me to call you on Sunday PM me your cell Kyle. Ooo that brings up a good question, I just ordered an alt from you guys like an hour ago, Should the stock belt fit the Pro alt? Or will i need to find a different size belt for it? Didn't even realise that it might need a different size than what i have. What alt are you buying? Because using the stock belt for my car, which is a 1998 honda civic (basically your car), is NOT an option. Squealing, squealing ERRYWHERE! Thankfully I'm swapping them out today, but trust me, stick with a smaller belt I ordered the Pro 210 max /100 idle alt for a 97 civic hatch
  3. So far Fi Q looks like the one I would recommend, or SSA Icon?.. I think the Icons cone looks legit ( Edit.. Just realized the Icon cone I was thinking about is the one for the 12-18" subs.. I didn't realize it was a different cone for the 10's )

    awesome, I am excited as I plan to order my alt tomorrow morning!! Once my darn paycheck clears my account.. ugh.. morning please get here faster!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My voltage = 12.0... slowly dying alt. P.S. Does in stock on the DC site mean it is actually there and basically ready to be shipped that day/next day?.. or does that just mean you have the ability to make them sometime... like idk nvm, I cant explain it. I just hope in stock means it ships out in 1-2 days.. cuz my stock alt is on its last leg

    Noob with a modified Genesis Coupe

    I was also thinking the JL HD 900/5. It is very small for the Large power output it has. It looks very nice which would look great in your genesis. Great amp for your full setup, all 4 speakers and sub. It sounds like a perfect all in one amp for the setup you wanted.

    I know JL isn't really that popular here, but I say 12w7's !! I use to be a proud owner of a w7 and it is an amazing sub!! 4 w7's Would be such a nice setup. They sound SOOOOOOO Clean! I think the JL w7's sound a lot cleaner than the Fi subs ( I own fi now, previously had JL ) The w7's would make an awesome sounding setup and they hit so LOW! (also maybe consider 4 12" SSA Icons? ) But def. w7s would be the sweetest setup.

    Yeah bro, def. get rid of that huge cap, Those things suck up more power than they give in a situation like yours. Maybe double up on all your grounds just to be safe if the voltage is acting weird.

    WELL worth the wait! When I ordered Sundown products from SSA it was very speedy Im sure they are just backed up at Sundown because duhh.. everyone wants some SA Subs, they freakin pwn Dont blame SSA they are honestly the most legit internet site for audio stuff! I always feel safe orderin here and everyone is super friendly!
  13. Ok so I installed my Stinger voltmeter last week and tuned it or whatever with my multimeter and it works perfect,.. but now that I can watch my voltage.. it is weird. Sometimes when I am driving it goes below 12v.. this is even if my head-unit is off, no windsheild wipers, no headlights no ac.. nothing on just driving and it randomly went to like 11.6 even.. I have figured out my "normal" voltage when driving is usually 12.5-12.7v... like that's what it stays at most of the time.. but when im driving I notice it is randomly at like 11.9 then later its like 11.6 and its for like 5-10 mins sometimes and then sometimes it goes back to like 12.2 or 12.5 and just fluctuates a lot.. BUT i know you shouldn't even use your subs if the voltage is below 12v.. so ... I cant even turn on music sometimes when im driving cuz its below 12 even just driving.. and its not only at stoplights.. sometimes at stoplights, sometimes crusin 45 local and sometimes going 75 on the highway.. What on earth would make it be so random all the time?.. I dont understand at all.. and sometimes when its like 12 i turn my music on a little it goes to like 12.3 but i know its working cuz if i crank it, it still goes down like normal and also cuz if I pull out the DMM and check batt or amp they all read same as the DVM.. and also.. randomly tonight it was like omg 14.3-14.4... and then back to 12.5... then like 2 mins later like 14.3 for 2 mins then back to 12.5.. IM SO CONFUSE PLEASE HELP IM HURTING MY BRAIN!! -Jd

  15. Oh, interesting Is that all setup ahead of time when I get a DC alt? I mean is it basically take off stock, plug in HO alt and mount and then ta da, done and everything else is already set up for me like the voltage reg. and all that jazz
  16. That's not bad at all. 14.4 is amazing. Believe me, I would love to have mine set at 14.4.
  17. Aw bro that would suck to have an amp that cuts off at "good voltage" IMO. 14.6 is beast voltage I think Cuz then when I crush the earth with young jeezy or something for fun, my car battery light wont come on. ( It has never done that.. It was just a cool example I thought lol )
  18. Oh true, I forgot the Sundown amp can handle up to 16v so no worries for me I guess. I am so excited that I keep posting about all this over and over lol. I wish I could stay up for a week straight just so the day of ordering it would get here faster.
  19. I would love to never go below 13v once i get the new alt. And yes my build has plenty of things I want ( lowering springs, HID's 1/0 upgrade, front lip, Rims, FULL tinted windows including brow.. Angel eye headlight housings ) but hey.. My car audio is first alt then ill figure out the rest.
  20. Just keep charging your batteries until you get the DC alt in. Will do for sure!! do dc alts run voltage at like 14.4 or 14.8? it would be legit to sit that high instead of 12.7 I can only imagine!! It'll probably sit around 15v-15.5v depending on temp and what not. I know when it was cold in the morning mine would be around 15.5v, but even when it was hot, 100 degrees outside driving for a few hours AND a saz1500d at full tilt, my voltage was in the high 14s. Obviously depends on which model you get, but you get the idea Holy grandma! 15v possibly!! NICE, I would love to sit in the 14's at full tilt ( PRO 210, 100 at idle ). I wanted to demo the other day after I installed the new batt and voltmeter in.. and I hit a 10.9.. EW turned off sub immediately and decided sub on "LOW" til new alt..
  21. Just use the 4gauge you got now, and later when you can afford it add some 1/0gauge. 4gauge wire can actually handle a few amount of amperage in short runs Ok awesome! Just wanted to make sure before I fried my car or something on accident! Ill def. replace with 1/0 soon after to provide better flow throughout my car.

  23. While you are all here, Is it MANDATORY to upgrade my big 3 to 1/0 with the new alt?.. or will my 4awg be good enough for now.. I cant really afford the wires + alt atm.. barley the alt friday as is.. Just dont want it to be too much current and burn up my wires.
  24. ahh now we see why my other walmart batt. died last month.. even though it was only a year old!! LOL. GAY.. And yes I charge the new batt 1-3 times a week lol.. 3 times cuz im weird like that. every other day never hurts.. at least thats what I say.. And especially since the alts hardly charging it. Hopefully the DC alt can get here in less than a week from order..
