  1. Like if I put (2) 6" aeros towards the middle back of the box, Could I have them go in 17" that they are and add a curve to make 1 go left about 8" and one curve right about 8" to make about 25" length and get 33hz tuning
  2. If I want to add more length to my ports to make it lower, can I put curves like an elbow joint on the aero port since my box isnt very long? If I could do that, then I could make them longer and achieve lower tuning like mid 30's or does putting a curve in an aero port mess up how it works? I know in slot ported boxes most have curves in the port walls
  3. alright.. Thanks again for the help. I just have no idea how 39hz will be, I had 33hz last time and loved the lows.. I was hoping to go lower like 30 and with 6 2's or 3's I could have hit 30-33hz because smaller port diameters needed less length and would actually fit.
  4. Also says minimum area should be 91.59" but I have yet to figure out how to calculate the area of aero ports.. do you just take like (6) 2" ports @ 11" each = 6x11=66" port area or what? I suck at math rofl. I dont know how to find port area of a aero port. I pretty much need a math tutor.
  5. how many 2 or 3 inch ports would I need min? It says for 30hz I need a min. port diameter or 10.8 : (6) 2" ports would be 12" of diameter
  6. ...OK so another quick question, Im trying to create options so that I will have a few choices.. You guys said that (4) 4" ports would make enough port area, but I was wondering if (6) 2" ports would make enough port area? or (6) 3" ports would? If I can use (6) 2 or 3" ports I could achieve tuning in the lower 30's, So I was wondering if 6 of the 2 or 3 inchers would make enough port area for my 4 subs in 4.66ft^3 I just want to see my options and draw up a few boxes each way that will work to see whats best before building the box.
  7. This is what I have been using currently: http://www.psp-inc.com/tools.html
  8. So I couldn't sleep last night and decided to start designing the box I want to build for my 4 SA-10s that im getting in next week. Thought I'd post up the pics.... Also, After discussing yesterday with a few of you and trying to decide how to do port area and everything with some aero ports, I decided on the (4) 4" aero ports.. But then after I designed it and everything I realized that the tuning you guys said was about 39hz.... and Sundown recommends 30-35hz for these subs.. 39hz was like the only tuning we could get to work in order to get enough port area for my setup.. So I wanted to make sure before I buy everything and build this,.. Are the subs going to do/sound ok at 39hz since they are recommended to go 30-35hz. I really wanted lower but could really only get this to work with my setup and space available. Here's some pics: *4 Sundown 10's...4-4" aero ports.... viewing window in front to see sexy woofas pounding inside.... LED install inside, hopefully Sundown logo on viewing glass.. ( Not actual glass )
  9. 4.66 volume after displacement. (4) 4" ports
  10. Oh true good point! I'm glad someone knows what they are doing
  11. An I just didn't know if 39 would be bad since they say to do between 30-35
  12. How do I figure out what that will make it with like 2 more inch per port, the site doesn't let u type port length and then calc tuning, it only let's you type tuning and then it tells u how much u need lol. Or I guess I can type random numbers until it says 19" length 4 4" ports
  13. 17" is their full length. i wish I could do like 3 ports or something and make it lower :'( but its ok.. I mean is it going to be a waste to get them if I end up doing 39hz? I want to get a lot out of these and them to sound amazing!
  14. Wow thanks guys! Really appreciate it! I'll make sure to take pics of everything in a build log once we get it building. Subs should be here Monday and box building to follow soon after!
  15. Is there a website or some way that I can use to figure out how much port area I need that I can use over and over to figure out how much I need for this and future builds? im trying to learn so that I can know these things to help others and myself in the future! Thanks for all of your help as always!!!!!
  16. So the more port area the better? Or if you get too much can it be bad again? Maybe I'll try to see if I can squeeze a few more inches per side and increase volume to get down a little and still keep port area up
  17. I wanted to tune low for this build like 30
  18. I guess its about 4.48ft^3 after displacement
  19. Could I do (4) 3" ports?....... I have enough length to do those..
  20. The length I have to work with for the length max the ports can be is like 22" thats from my hatch to my back seats basically.. max I can fit for port length per port.
  21. because I thought for 4 - 4" ports they would each be around 28-32" ( estimating ).. the box isnt even like that wide lol, So how could I fit 4 - 32" long ports in a 30" box... So thats why I was wondering if you divide the total ( 30" ) by 4 ports? .. if they each have to be the full 30" then I cant do 4 ports..
  22. If I did 4-4" ports, how long would each need to be in order to achieve 30hz? the way the programs say it, confuses the crap out of me.. because when it says like for example.. 4ft^3 and (2) 4" ports, port length needs to be like 15.6"... the # that it says the port length to be, is that per port or do you divide that by how many ports you have? Like if you have 3 ports and it said you need 21", would you have 3 ports 7" llong, or all 3 are 21" long each..
  23. So if I did 2- 4" Ports, you said that would be 14".. is that 14" long per port, or 7" long per port equaling 14" total? Like would I make each tube 14" long inside the box or each one 7" long in the box?
  24. Ok so I want to order my aero ports but I need to know how many I need first.. I still don't totally understand how to figure it out so If i tell you the box specs can someone help me know how many I need and how long to make each one? I plan on buying 4" aero ports from this site: http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=268-352 My box is going to be 29"x15"x22" I typed it all in and it is like 4.5ft^3 but after displacements it would be about 4ft^3 So if my box is 4ft^3 and I want to Tune to 30hz and put in 4" aero ports, how many do I need? and How long would each one need to be? If a different size is better.. I believe they have 2" and 3" aero ports as well.. Please help I want to get these ordered so they are here when the subs get here monday!! ( 4 SA-10s ) Subs up, ports back towards my hatch
  25. 600 is a sorta outta what I want to spend. The bc2000 would be great for my budget, Im def. researching that 1. 330 new is great. It would be amazing if I found one used for under $300.. Im reading a lot about them and people who have owned them. It does at least 2k @1ohm correct?
