What fuse Size do I need?
Jd377 replied to Jd377's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Ok I am using a single run of 0 awg. And yes my rear batt will be within like 3 feet of the amp or maybe even 2 feet. The amp will be sitting on my rear seat and the battery will be on the floor right in front of that seat. -

Does that mean there is a different one you would pick than those sizes? -
Is Hifonics HFi 2500d good????
Jd377 posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Hey guys, I've been looking to upgrade and today in my area a guy put up a hifonics HFi 2500d for sale for $200. His engine went out and needs money. Wanted to see if anyone knows much about hifonics HFi series amps or hifonics in general. It seems like a good deal and he sent pics and it's mint condition, looks untouched. Let me know! Looking to buy it today if you guys think it's fine? True power? -
Big 3 first always! Then throw an xs poweror kinetik battery in the rear, also using 1/0 wiring to the rear batts from the front. Crescendo bc2000 would be the best bang for your buck. It took 4 days for me to get emailed back, so try giving them a call and leave a message. They will getback with you and its a great product. Oh also I loved my Fi SSD! They sound amazing. You would love the Fi subs.

Amp for 4 SA-10s? Recommendations wanted!
Jd377 posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Alright so I have 4 Sa-10s coming in the mail this week and will probably build my box next weekend.. So I need to find an amp SOON!!! I don't really know how much power to give the 4 SA-10s but the 3 amps that I have been looking at and looking for used/new are: SAZ-2000d Audioque 2200d Crescendo BC2000d I wanna do this right the first time and get a great amp from the start with this setup. Plus I figure these amps are linkable so in the future I could add a second to match and gain 2x power if needed down the road. Is 2k good for 4 SA-10s? or would 2.5-3k be a better match? Probably am looking at amps between $250-$400ish... obv these are all in the top half price range like 330-400++++ But I am also looking at them used. This is just what I have been looking at because they are all possible without breaking the bank.. But if there are other GREAT amps that put out TRUE RMS POWER please recommend one that you use/have used. ALSO if any of the ones I listed (SUCK!!!) then please let me know! I don't want to end up buying one and find out they have problems or arent doing rated. Does anyone know if any of these are good/ -
Rofl. I was like.. for real? you have got to be kidding me lol. That made me laugh a lot though haha

Electrical needed for saz 2k & 3k???
Jd377 posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Hey guys, I finally found 2 amps that I'm trying to choose between for my 4 SA-10s. I am either going to purchase a used saz 2000 or the saz 3000. I was wondering what kind of electrical is needed to run power one of these 2 beasts. I currently have a DC HO Alt that Is 110/170 idle/max and a kinetik 1400 under the hood with a kinetik 600 in the rear. ( I will also have 0 awg ran from front to back and 0 awg big 3 ). I'm not sure what is needed to keep voltage up with the 2k or 3k? Should this be enough? I'm not sure what most people have these on, I saw a few people say they had stock 90 amp Alts with just 2 large batts so I wasnt sure! Thanks guys! -
Electrical needed for saz 2k & 3k???

Is 1 run of 0 awg enough for a saz 3000? I don't really want to mess with an amp that requires 2 runs of 0 awg -
Electrical needed for saz 2k & 3k???
Jd377 replied to Jd377's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I used a dmm last time to try and set gains. I guess one thing I was wondering is if my electrical is capable of handling a saz 3k ( as in with what i have with the ability to add 1-2 kinetik 1400's to the rear if needed) because I dont want to buy it if I can't power it any and would then just get the 2k. -
Would you buy this amp for?
Jd377 replied to Angelboy863's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
depending on the year and the model they could be simi decent. Not with him installing them and setting them up they wont be. gee thanks for your support lol Your welcome Wow that seemed pretty rude.. Haha.. Thought this was a friendly helpful environment. -
Amp for 4 SA-10s? Recommendations wanted!
Jd377 replied to Jd377's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
DO all the amps I listed put out their true rated RMS power? Is audioque actually a good company for amps? I didn't know if they were good quality or not and if they put out true, but they can be found at decent prices used! I have heard good things about them but didn't know if anyone had personal experience using one? Also the Saz-2000 is like pricy.. I never see them used and if I do it will most likely be $350-400. I assume the SAZ-2000 is good? It is not made anymore so I didnt know if that meant they had problems with that one or just replaced it with a new model like (2500)? ( SAZ-2500d would be legit as im sure its underrated and is really close to 3k but the 2000 is already like at the top of what I want to spend.. the 2500d is TOO much new by tons for me, I never see them used.. ) Is crescendo known to put out 2k rms at 13.8v? Are they quality and reliable amps? Should I save and buy a more powerful 3kw amp? -
Amp for 4 SA-10s? Recommendations wanted!
Jd377 replied to Jd377's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I re-measured my car just now after work and came up with better results than before. It would be about 6.78ft^3 and about 6.3ft^3 after displacement! About (4) 4" ports.. if I leave them uncut at 17" ill be tuned around 33hz and can add or take away length 1-2" if needed in the future to change tuning! Definitely wiring to 1ohm they are 4 D2's -
First, Is this vehicle one that you would like besides this situation? But if you like 92 explorers and think its legit, then do it because that is like pretty much God handing you 4k to make your dream system, while still having a vehicle in amazing condish. Sounds like a sweet deal to me. I think id scoop up on this deal and build your dream system + pocket 1.5k for savings while maintaining a Legit ride in mint condish

Ok so I purchased 3 SA-10s off someone on here and should get them within a week. I really wanted to build a box with a port because lots have said SA-10s really shine ported.. but i wasnt so good at figuring out all the math for the port and even worse we sucked at knowing how to build it good.. ( first box ported we made really ) So I have been looking at these circular ports like tubes you add as the port and it seems much simpler to me.. if I understand it correctly and I tried to use 12volt.com to help me figure out port length and size and stuff.. So could someone explain to me how you build a port with the circular tubing or aero whatever it is i guess? is it seriously that easy? that you just need to figure out volume of box and all the displacements and then all you have to calculate is the size of circle tube you use and the length of that tube based on the tuning (30 or 32 probably ) that I choose? That seems way too easy.. Also if it is that easy, does the tube's length go inside the box and fit flush to edge of box or does it stick out of the box and fit flush to the inside? or can you do either?.. I thought I had seen it both ways which confused me even more.. Please I love learning I just need teachers!!!!

Omg, my sub box i'm trying to design looks like a fart nugget now :L that is freakin sexy

I dont understand aero ports or whatever?..
Jd377 replied to Jd377's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
Or where do you get some 8" aeros? do they exist? if I calculated right, I could use (1) 8" port and it would have about the same port area as (2) 6" or (4) 4"
