I have a pair of Cerwin-Vega RE-30s in great condition. Today, I had the idea of playing the "In the Air Tonight" bass test version on them for the hell of it. Throughout the song, I heard this somewhat loud vibrate/hissing (hard to describe) coming from each cabinet. I figured it was just air coming from the port, but after further inspection, it seems that it is actually air escaping from around the fuse "box." I have never heard this before, probably because I have never played anything very bass heavy with soft-ish mids and highs. I thought that cabinets and boxes are suppose to be pretty air tight, or at least not let this much air out. My question is, why is this happening? Is it just a flaw in the cabinet? Nothing appears to be wrong with anything on the back; the fuse, binding posts, or the back plate that holds both of those things on. Is there a way to fix this? If you need any more info, just let me know.

Decided to post some of the black and white photography that I have done in the past many years. Not much, just a taste. All were taken with a Nikon FE2. There is a lot of dust on this one from a bad scan, but after posting this picture other places, people said that they like the dust and advised me to just keep it how it is. I primarily shoot digital. Rarely do I mess with film. Thanks for looking!

I see somebody posted some Sublime, so I'll add: Bass gets good around 1:23.

Looks great! Nice work, Andrew! -
So I was at the local Goodwill, heading straight for the "Electronic section." I always check for speakers, hoping one day I will make an awesome discovery. Well, this day, I spotted a set of interesting speakers. The first thing that I noticed was that they were heavy as crap! They were Grafyx Model 6 speakers I do believe. They looked exactly like these: http://www.oaktreevintage.com/web_photos/Stereo_Speakers/Grafyx_Model_VI_Stereo_Speakers_web.jpg I had never heard of Grafyx before, so I decided to just let them stay and not buy them (I have an old phone, so I couldn't search the interwebs for info). They where in great shape and only $30 for the pair. Did I make the right decision of not buying them, or did I screw up?

Very impressive numbers from that V6! And props to you for doing all the work yourself!

I have heard about this before and sounds like a great idea, but I wouldn't want to get rid of my DSLR to get a P&S. I've put too much money into my DSLR with lenses, flash, CF cards, battery's, etc. But, in the next 100 years when I have money to spend, I will probably be taking advantage of this program!! And nice choice in getting the 5D Mark II! The 5D, either I or II, would be my next DSLR if I could buy one now. I have such a long wish-list for photography equipment with a very short stack of cash. I don't even go to BHphoto.com anymore because it is like walking into BestBuy with no money to spend! It sucks..

Right now, IF I could get another lens, body, flash, or anything, I would probably choose a P&S camera. I love my Canon, but after 5 years or so with it, it is just too damn big, heavy, and just a pain to carry around. I wish I could take a camera with me that I could fit in my pocket. Plus, I know some P&S cameras that shoot GREAT pictures, so don't take yours for granted! I appreciate all of the great words guys!

Where has Andrew gone?

Yeah, I love film too, just it is damn pricey! You cannot compare the clarity, contrast, and just look of film. The FE2 is actually my dads, so if I want to shoot some film, I go home and use his camera. My digital stuff with my own camera is here, in case you might be somewhat interested: http://www.flickr.com/photos/redshade11/

Looking forward to some pics later!

Great build! Love the under-floor compartment! Also, nice iPod holder. Might need to try my hand at some fiber-glassing sometime.

I like whiskey myself. Never really been a fan of Tequila. But then again, never had some nice Tequila.
