If you are looking into crescendo the popping issue should be something you should research. Good luck with the build -

The SQ on the BL will be fine. If your even considering BL then it is most likely the choice for you. As Ohjay said the q is a serious SQ woofer. It has the ability to get loud but if SPL with some SQ is your goal the BL would be a better decision. Although for the kind of power you are looking at the BTL shouldn't be overlooked. I am not all too familiar with Sundown Z v2's but they could be a good choice or even Nightshades. Sundown makes excellent products. If I remember correctly the Z's are more musical, but research don't just take my word for this. As stated I'm not familiar enough to comfortably say if they would be right for you or not. I'm just reminding you of them. -

Ported is not better overall. For output, yes ported is usually the way to go. From the info given it seems like the best way for you to go. What are your goals and what type of music do you listen to. I cant say for sure but I would think the Qs can handle that kind of power and depending on your goals that could be an ok choice, but generally for output a BL or BTL would be a better choice. The q's are sound quality woofers. The BTL can handle the type of power you are pushing without a problem. The two amps you mentioned are stable at 1 ohm if I'm not mistaken. The Crescendos seem to be good amps other than the popping problem that some have encountered. -

First off we cant tell you D1 or D2 until you decide an amp. Both those amps are fine. There are a lot of companies that do HO alts just search around here and you'll see. A lot of people are happy with DC power. Can't tell you about the battery until you get the amp installed and monitor your voltage. The box depends on your goals. Cant tell you from the information given. There is a thread all about the big 3 in the how to section. Check that out. My advice is do some research on the forum before you undertake this install. Best of luck to you -
With that kind of room you could fit two 10s I believe. I like the idea of the Dcons or even two sa10s. Sundown is selling some b stock SA's too which might be worth looking into

Congrats man I am sure you won't be disappointed by any SSA product. As far as amps go this [SAZ-1000D or this would be great options. I would seriously consider building your own box to save some money though.

Its rained every day for like three weeks here in NKY. It blows. Between shit weather and work I havent had time to build my box
-
I figured. If you get that amp take lots of pics because they're sexy

What kind of voice coil is in your Xcon? Isn't the Minotaur stable at 2ohms

So you're buying a pre made box? Did you say what it is tuned to I don't remember seeing. My advise is to measure your workable dimensions and see what you can fit. You could possibly have a box built by Audibel Customs or Argent Audio to fit under your seat and maybe go with aero ports to save space? I would personally go with them over a generic premade box. Everyone on here who has dealt with them has great things to say. Either way I would get those dimensions and go from there.

Amp looks amazing dude congrats. A tip though. Right click and copy image location. Use that. I host my photos on flickr and post them here all the time -
Do you have any experience tinting your own windows? There are places around me that will tint windows for around $100. Personally I think it is not easy to do a good job and would prefer to have a professional do it. I have heard good things about the 3M tint. Used it to tint tail lights and it's nice stuff

I would have posted this in the Electrical section in the main forum. You'll get more responses. As for the alternator I think DC would be a great choice because of their great cs

Help with box dimensions and port for 2 12s
Luke.H replied to clab333's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
There's a ton of threads on wiring. Just search. Try looking into welding wire. weldingsupply.com or call a local welding supply shop. Its pure copper so you should treat the exposed ends there was a thread about this like 2 days ago -
Your build is looking good so I think your on the right track for that.
-
I would listen to Shizzzon.....no sense loosing viewing area if you can help it. I cant remember if you said you still have the sd's but if you do i really think you should consider a new box. Im no expert, but if your box is too small you could potentially be happy with a box built to spec. Everyone says its 90% install

Sweet car. I noticed your shift boot. Auger or just ebay? A buddy has an si and got the same boot from Auger. On his it looks like it should have been stock because of the stitching in the seats. That 15 should slam in that car. How do you like the Greddy exhaust? I've never heard one but I've heard a Vibrant and it sounded amazing Im guessing the Greddy would be pretty stellar too

Lupo GTI Build Log - Ascendant Audio, SPL Dynamics, XS Power
Luke.H replied to BILTD's topic in Ascendant Audio
Jesus pucking christ. This build is incredible. That's gotta be so crazy sitting in that tiny ass car with those subs. The quality of the work is amazing too -
Well you shouldn't remove the factory wiring. I just ran mine along side. Some remove it some don't. I personally didn't. Your cca wire should be fine. You don't need all that much wire though. Just call a local welding supply store and see if they sell welding wire. It's a lot cheaper and is pure copper.

Help with box dimensions and port for 2 12s
Luke.H replied to clab333's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
Depends on your car. But no its not bad. Just check out the thread here and you'll be fine -
I'd stay away from the AQ HD. The Xcon or BTL or even Zcon would be a great choice
