Aeroports take up less internal volume so you would be able to have a box with larger net volume. I'm sure that's why he is suggesting them. As for what's optimal, that will depend on your preferences. Normally somewhere in the middle of the recommended range is ok, but remember there are no rules of thumb in car audio.

Depending on your amp and goals a pair of dcons or Fi X's would work

I would get a 10. You would be sacraficing either low end extension or efficiency by building a smaller than reccomended box for a 12. A Q or Icon would fit the bill nicely as previously stated. I haven't heard much from them in awhile, but Soundsplinter might be another option depending on availibilty. Best of luck to you.

Tracing it from the stream might be possible, but they encrypt that information so it wouldn't be easy. I did a quick search and didn't find any kind of workaround Guy says he is Eli Heitmann, [email protected], claims to have this phone number (65one)-2one2-7897, but is currently out of town on business. What amp are you using? Typically you won't need an HO alternator to push that ammount of power. You might be able to get away with a bigger starter battery or an extra battery in the trunk. I wouldn't be too concerned what you stock alternator puts out because you don't know how much of that amperage the vehicle uses. The best thing to do is install the equipment and monitor your voltage. Upgrade your electrical as necessary. No matter what be sure to do the Big 3. If you don't know what that is there's a sticky here on what it is and how to do it.

The Havoc is comparable to the Q which is Fi's sound quality reference driver. Not enough information was given to properly answer this question.

It's hard to say if its just a local shop. Without any reviews or feedback I would personally be wary. I would be much more comfortable getting one from a trusted company online.

I think the build turned out pretty well man. I like the 4 12's as opposed to 15's or an 18 etc. Something new. Has your friend never heard a sub before or something, lol?

I don't see why you would want to run it down to .5. The extra power you'll get won't make an audibel difference and it will most certainly put more stress on your equipment. Unless this is for competiton use, lol.

Depending on what you mean by midbass a subwoofer might not be the best way to achieve your goals. You say you have some component speakers up front currently? Have you sealed and deadened the doors? A proper install can bring out a lot of midbass from your speakers.

Welcome to SSA I agree with Alton. You'll be much happier with a Fi product and depending on your goals a pair of BLs or a BTL might just be an excellent choice.

I think you would be better off buying a new HO alternator. From what I've seen most rebuilds have very low output at idle

Kicker subs have the ability to sound good. I don't understand where that misconception comes from. There are much better options for the money. That's why most of the members here will recommend another company.

Both the options you mentioned would be fine. Go with whatever fits your budget. Don't forget about the possibility of strapping a pair of amps. You didn't mention electrical upgrades. I hope you've thought that part out as well as it can be very expensive.
