Dave, Thanks for doing the review! I am patiently awaiting your final product <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hey Jake, long time no see. Its awesome that you've got this business going. I'm going to be needing some amps soon since I'm thinking about finally putting some sound back into my car. I may just have to give you a call. Good luck! Kevin

Loyd and Nick are both jerks. They just released a CRAPLOAD of balloons at the All-Star Game. Jeez. Much hate, Kevin

I hope its alright to put this here, since it is the SI forum and I'm part of SI and I'd really like somone that's a big time SI fan to get these. Your chance to get the only set of 327's ever built. The mids alone in this set cost nearly $200. These things have been lightly used and I'm selling because I simply don't have the room to put them in kicks. The mid is a 6" with a 1" textile dome tweeter and custom built/hand assembled crossover. Looking to get $250 plus shipping for the set.

Deal fell thru. Still got them. Willing to trade for another comp set or a nice HU(plus or minus cash either way). Thanks. Kevin

Actually, that might be a possibility depending on what happens with em. I'll let you know.
-
You talkin to me, Mark? If so, financing may be an option since you're a fellow SI boy.
-
Nick, if you do read this, you know how to get in contact with me. I'm always here for you man. We'll figure something out. I'll come down there packing a pair of .44 mags if I have to and we'll take justice into our own hands. Just say the damn word, brother.

Nick (and maybe Jake?) are the only ones that have heard the 327's and I know that nearly as few people have heard the XXX's........... So a comparison is very very tough to make..... I'll have my 327's, the only set that i know of that's out right now, in soon, with any luck.........i'll let you guys know...

Don't need a ton of power to get loud........... Marshall (Black00) is doing 150's at the HEADREST on the TermLab with 4 tempests and 1kw......
-
I believe that the 15's are in stock. 900w will be plenty, as the 15's are quite efficient. I'm pretty confident in saying that you'll be very pleased by a pair in 8 cubes before displacement.
-
The 302's have been discontinued. The only sets currently offered are the 307's and 327's. Sorry.

Shipping damage I assume ? Thats the worst... Did you let Nick know already ? Yeah, he called just a couple hours ago. EDIT: I guess shipping damage is really a female dog, huh? Hopefully the shiping company can get these things right this time, as I'm sure I'm just the victim of circumstance. Poo on me.

Well, they're here.......but there's a problem........ One of the mids is totally locked down........looks like the coil was physically pushed so far back that it bent and jammed in the gap.......lemme go get a ruler and I can get a definite rear xmech measurement. This sucks.
-
Yep, I should have them sometime soon........... Not sure about building the kicks tho.........i guess I can give it a shot........not worried about actually building them........aiming is more a concern.......
-
Looks good, Nick. Give me a call sometime tonight if you're not too busy.
-
I'll take the ZR-1.......that is unless you've got a 67' 435hp 427 up your sleeve.......or even better a 67' L88.......but I guarantee you don't have a shot of a L88.....

1) turn off SSF 2) turn sub out to +15 3) you went from ported to sealed, correct? You may be expecting too much out of it sealed. 4)If you can get the sub to make audible sounds of stress, its safe to say that you're pushing it to its limits. 5) That power rating is not BS.
-
Port area is generally determined by the total displacement capability of the sub. Area is what matters with a port, but you're always making a sacrifice when increasing area. For any given enclosure, an increase in port area means an increase in length and thus, an increase in total volume and depth. To compensate for this increase in volume of the port, your box volume must be increased and the length of the port must also be taken into account as well. That's where "snaking" or bending the port comes into play. 9 times out of 10, you want to make the port as large as possible, within reason. Too large of a port will have just as much an ill-effect on a sub as too small of a port. For all-out spl purposes, you'll see many competitors with as much as 100% Sd for their port area. That means as much surface area of their ports as they have of their subs. For prictical purposes, however, it is generally ok to use just enough port area to nullify port noise associated with ports that are too small, but efficiency may be somewhat sacrificed if going with a smaller port.

The Tantrum is not overrated at all.............every birthsheet I've seen has been 1450-1550 watts at 4ohm. Quality amp.
-
I did. What's your question?
-
That will work just fine. Might want to lower tuning down to the 30-32hz area.

Link no worky, dumchit.
