How are they as far as doing rated power and being musical or are they just a ground pounder amp. I am particularly looking at the VLX 1de and 2de. Any help you can give is greatly appreciated.

Does anyone have comparison pics of their 10 or 12 inch Fi SSd or Q next to other competitors subwoofers. I am particularly interested in they are next to something from JL, TREO, or Alpine. I am trying to find out if these subwoofers would fit in my particular situation. I am building a fiberglass box that will have the airspace and the depth to it that is needed but it will have to be tapered down at the bottom to fit under the seat of my 2010 dodge ram crew cab so I am trying to find out if these subs would work. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Its not the basket, its the motor width and at what depth that has me wondering because it doesn't start tapering down until about 4 inches of depth so I wanted to make sure the motor would not hit.

RE Audio VLX Amplifiers
txhouse replied to txhouse's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Ok, has anyone used them and knows if they are good as far as being a good daily subwoofer amp or are they strictly for competitions? Also I believe sonic electronix is an authorized distributor for them, can someone clarify for me? -
Which amp would you recommend?

I am getting a set of Focal 165KRX2 components and I need am amp to power them. I am looking at the Mosconi ONE 120.2, AS 100.2, the TREO SSX100.2 or the JL audio 300/2v2. Which amp do you think would work the best for these components? Any help is greatly appreciated. -
I am looking at these Treo SSx series components and am wanting to know if anyone has heard them or knows anything about them? I am curious as to how that dual tweeter design sounds and what the price of these things are. Any help is greatly appreciated.

which sub for under rear seat of Explorer Sport-Trac
txhouse replied to gps69's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
My last truck was an 07 sport trac and I have a JL 8w3v3 in a custom ported enclosure under the rear seat and it sounded really good for what it was. It didn't rattle your teeth but it accented my mids and highs perfectly. -
Thanks for the replys guys. I will be using one of these speakers with either a hertz EP2X or audison (srx probably) amp. So there will be plenty of power to feed these speakers and dual layers of sound deadening. I will leave the rear doors stock and using two ten inch treo TE's under the rear seat of my truck.

I am looking at upgrading the components in my doors and I have narrowed it down to these three components. I cannot demo the 165XL because no one around me has any on their demo board. I am wanting to know what you all recommend as far as midbass and accurate sound reproduction which are the better speakers. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Their will be plenty of sound dampening. Thanks for the quick reply though, That helped out a lot.

I am going for a SQ setup and I am going to be doing this in a Dodge ram crew cab. My question is, would you put one really good set of components up front and leave the rears stock or would you put a good set of components up front and a good set of coaxials in the rear? The price would be pretty much the same. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I am doing this for good sound not for sq competitions. I want to run passive as I have never done active and wouldn't even know where to begin.
-
I realize that the subwoofers play the smallest roll in a sq setup, I just wanted everyones opinion of what they thought was a good sq setup when the time comes to do that.
-
I see a lot of sub comparisons but I haven't seen this one. Which would you choose for a pure sound quality setup. 1 Treo SSp 10 in a 1.3 cu. ft ported enclosure 34hrtz. 2 Fi SSD 10in. in a 1.85 cu. ft ported enclosure tuned to 35hrtz. 1 FI BL 10in in a 1.3 cu. ft ported enclosure tuned to 34 hrtz. 2 Fi Q 10in in a 1.85 cu. ft ported enclosure tuned to 35 hrtz. The Treo I know will fit but I am not sure about the FI Q or BL because the motor is so wide so I am asking about all of the ones I am considering. These will be going under the rear seat of my 2010 dodge ram crew cab.
-
I was looking at either going with focal polyglass components for the front and coax for the rear or the same setup using hybrid audio's clarus and imagine line if that is what you were asking about going with a sq setup for what else I plan on running.

I am just wondering how the new XT series and VLX series amps are compared to some of the amps from the past. I am looking at these amps and they are a steal for the power they claim to put out and the efficiency they claim. If someone could tell me how they are now I would greatly appreciate it and also if someone could explain to me what some of the differences are between the VLX and XT series amps are because spec. wise they look very similar but their is a $100 price difference.

Alright guys and gals. I am looking at getting two ten inch subwoofers for under the seat of my 2010 dodge ram crew cab. I am comparing the BL, Q, and SSD. This is not a which sub sounds better kind of thread. What I would like to know is what the motor width is on these subs and at what depth is that width at because I see that the motors get really wide then taper down. I want to know this because the box for the 2010 ram crew cabs tapers down towards the bottom so I'm kinda limited for space in that sense. I have enough room (air space) wise. Any help you can give me would be extremely appreciated.

I am trying to decide whether I want to go sealed or ported. My question is with tuning frequencies. Lets say that a subwoofers optimal tuning frequency is at 33hrtz and someone builty a box for 35hrtz, how would that effect the sound. And also what would the effect be if it was the opposite and designed a box at 27hrtz, how would that effect the sound. Sorry if this question has been asking a bunch before but I couldn't really find the answer I was looking for.

Thanks yall, that is exactly what I wanted to know.

I currently havent bought anything. I am looking to get the subs and then build the system around that.

Hi all. I just purchased a 2010 Dodge Ram crew cab laramie and am looking to outfit it with a nice SQ oriented sound system. My first truck was an old 97 f150 single cab with a full memphis setup. My second truck was an 07 sport trac with CDT es-62i components and a jl8w3 ported sub. I am not a total newb when it comes to car audio but at the same time there is always room to learn more and that is what I plan on doing as I ask questions about what I should run in this setup. This site looks very promising.

I am looking for a sound quality setup. My goals are to have a good punch as I listen to mostly rock and country (very rarely rap). I don't want that boomy bass or subs that get loud and sound like crap, I want to be able to tell that it is playing the bass to the music not just sounding like test tones. If that didn't answer your question I'm sorry but please elaborate as to what you mean if that doesn't answer it.

Are these amps only for SPL or can they be used for daily use as well. I am looking at using this to power probably two FI SSD 10 inch subwoofers or should I look at another amplifier.
-
I only have airspace for one SSp as they require 1.25 cu. ft. a piece and I have the airspace for two SSD's or Q's but I am not sure if the motor is too bit on the Q's to use two of them because on the driver side rear the space the mountable area is actually smaller so I don't know if the motor would clear. The only reason I considered the BL was because I heard that it sounds almost as good as the Q but has a lot more output. Thanks for helping me narrow it down some.
