i do the same thing as the that guy^ but i use a dowel rod so i can slide it back and forth for whatever size hole i need

finished everything up today tuning and cleaning up the wiring and so on and here are the final pics of the install......

i have an fi bl 12 that is practically brand new that i had bought for the honda i thought i was going to be using well now im stuck with this sub and want to put a system in my dodge megacab but havent been able to sell it and am not sure i have enough room back there to port it. i have been out of the game for a while so any help would be appreciated.....thanks

i live in alice its way down south near corpus christi.......i got it all hooked up today and it sounds damn good! still need to make a few adjustments but my damn fluke is on the fritz.....thanks again for the help

thanks for all the help and info BKOLF04 built my box yester and finished it up today when the port arrived still need to do a few little things like speaker connections and actually mounting the box and wiring my amp.....here are a few pics

k thanks buddy and does it matter if the port is facing the passenger or drivers side?

ive been running my bl with my re12.1 and it suits it well not that it matters because they dont makem anymore....

on the end facing up? or to the side?

one more question should the port face up or on the side of the box? and would it make a difference if i put the speaker on the passenger side and the port on the drivers side or vise versa? i havent done a ported truck box beofre so im a little clueless thanks.

i did ask and apparently it wont but if i am still able to use it in my application without having to sell it and lose out money because i wont be able to sell it for what i bought it for that would be great. i have my amp already and just installed a alpine 9885 in my truck, just found out my wife is pregnant and she's already tightening up the wallet so any help is greatly appreciated

i double checked my measurements and it was 6"td x 9.5" bd x 57"w x 20"h thank you very much for the help.....ford302redneck i also thankyou for the info but i do not use aim

huh thats what i figured i guess my next question would be if someone could help me with a ported box design?? it wont be very big maybe maybe maybe 2.5 to 3 ft3 not including sub and port disp..........measurements are 57"w (shorter if possible)x20"hx 6"tdx10" bd......tuned for daily 30-35hz

just compared to the output of the crystal cmp 8 on the same power in a box designed to spec for the aa 8 it just wasnt all that compared to the crystal and we tried several different boxes and the overall sound was mediocre at best.....but thats my personal opinion....i have been inpressed with the re 8's for the price they are the best choice but if you want to spend more than 70 bux i would look into the crystal's, rli's, dd's, or image dynamics if you can find them.......

i have owned the crystal cmp 8's and was very impressed with them and impressed quite a few people with them also. i have also had a chance to play with the aa 8's and was very dissapointed with them....i am planning to do a 8" sub install in my megacab and am planning on running cmp's again if i can find them or some dd1508's.
