Hello, First to let you know my install that I am having an issue with.... I have a pioneer avh-3200dvd, an sax-50.4 which is powering the IA coaxial speakers in my front stage. The Issue: Yesterday I was going into depth both on my amplifier and the head unit to tune my front stage to my satisfaction. Some 3 hours later, I had gotten it just the way I wanted it. To tune, I unplugged the rcas to pull my amp out to access it, and plugged them back in. The x-over setting on my amp was on full, I switched it to HPF and basically tuned to desire. When I was done, I turned my truck off, then back on, and WHINE, no music playing. Turned the truck off, then into the half position still whine, then ignition all the way back to the locked position and no whine. The unusual part about it, to me, sometimes it's alternator whine, sometimes it's brake whine, sometimes it's just turn signal whine. The REALLY unusual part is that, when I punched the back seat (amp is located behind the back seat), no more whine. But when I turn the truck off, then back on, whine again until I move the back seat, or wiggle the amp. I have never had a whine issue before except when I had my sub amplifier in. That was easily fixed by tightening its ground. I have have had the same head unit, speakers, amplifier, wires, and rcas in my truck for about a year and a half, and have added nothing new. The only thing that has changed is the amplifier being switched to HPF and a few tuning settings changed. What I have tried: Ensuring that all connections on the amp (power, neg, rem, speaker outputs, and rcas) are not loose. Ensuring that all grounding points are tight. (They have been previously sanded, it's a metal to metal connection.) I appreciate your time and help, thank you in advance!

You can do so if you please. I see this as a great option for people who don't have the craftsmanship to make a custom enclosure this nice. It would take quite a few practice enclosures to match up to something like this for someone who doesn't have much to any experience to building quality enclosures.

Sure, entertain me!

I would but I just don't have the space to properly fit an 18. I appreciate the offer though!

My brother's car (2002 Nissan Xterra 3.3L v6) all stock electrical seems to be having a couple issues regarding its electrical system. For starters, if left sitting for more than 2 days the car has very much trouble starting. It will crank very slowly 1 or 2 times then stop. Then of course starts immediately when cabled to another car. I put a DMM on the battery which rests at around 12.8, pretty normal. Then 14.2 when the car is turned on, also normal. After say 15 minutes...it seems as though the alternator stops giving 14.2 and goes down to 12.6 (under battery resting voltage). That I noticed was an immediate issue. Then I turned the car off and the dmm read 11.4. If this has been happening all the time, I guess that explains the trouble starting when it sits. Turn the car back on immediately, it then goes to 12.6, no more 14.2v.We suppose there is an issue with the alternator, and we are prepared to replace it. But if that could not be the actual issue, it would be a waste of money and time. I'm here to have some reinforcement on my decision of replacing the alternator or being told to check a few other things out first to see if that could remedy the problem. Thanks!

Hey I have an saz-3500 for sale there are a few scratches here and there if you are interested still I'd be willing to let it go pretty reasonably.
-
If you were take the time to look in the exact same sub-section (sundown) you will clearly see the first sticky about the different sa-8 versions and what you can and can't do between the different models. That's too easy I guess??????? What?

I celebrated mothers day early, because my mom won't be around sunday. She's always wanted an amazon kindle, so i got her that, then a card.

i ordered the blue chrome on my subs on tuesday will i have the same problem too ????????? can anyone from FI confirm this please??? Shut the fuck up, they can't confirm what may or may not happen. Just listen to the advice given in this thread. Spray adhesive on the back of the stickers if they're falling off.

HOW DO I FIND OUT WHAT SUB I HAVE, I BAUGHT USED FROM CRAIGSLIST

No need for all caps, nor a huge run on sentence, and learn to use proper spelling and grammar. Make a decent post to get a decent answer. -
Interest inquiry: Real Carbon Fiber Dust Caps
Hzd Skizzy replied to Aaron Clinton's topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
In my personal opinion, I do not like it. To me it seems a little flashy almost. But I do enjoy the idea of having it as an upgrade item for those that would enjoy it. -
GCONs are on the store.

I'm gonna go ahead and get a 15 d2 tomorrow. Also I figure I would point out a small typo in the "product description". I'm assuming you meant to put "and the 3" voice coil." (Not to be picky) -

Do you read, or is everything just given to you on a silver platter. -
subs not playing right, sound hollow
Hzd Skizzy replied to EPerez's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Pretty sure he's talking about something like this. http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3449316 Plug I pod into the stereo cable and then plug the rca's in the amp, then play using the ipod, not headunit. -
I could have sworn one day in chat we talked about how meters can be rented out. Am I recalling the correct conversation? Or am I thinking of something else? If meters are available for rental, I'd love to learn about it.

So I get everything put together today and almost ready to go, but the cutouts on the box are too small for my xcon 10's. So I'm wondering the best way to remedy this problem.I'm trying to keep it as clean and as simple as possible. Thanks for the help.

SOOO, I got the box in, aside from it being packaged VERY WELL a tad damage from fedex which irks me a little, but has no effect on the performance of the box because its just on the very end of the bottom of the port. As of right now while the battery box is being line-x'd I have put in the 3500 and will be wiring to 4 ohm until the batteries are in. Enjoy.

It's about time to get things started.

NightshaDe v.2 15 or ssa Zcon 15?
Hzd Skizzy replied to Chickenwings's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Yeah, this is an old thread, he got a zcon 15 a month ago. -
Is there a protect light on? How did you wire it up? What are the symptoms that it has that lead u to believe it has a short? Did it work, then stopped working? If it was advertised as working and you payed the money for a working amplifier, then you got screwed. But before we decide to ship it off, troubleshoot a little. Please answer those questions and we can see what solution will be best for you.

Bl with what amp?
Hzd Skizzy replied to Vieceli's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
lol +1... if you need a amp that does rated at 2 ohms look into the kicker zx series... Yes and correct me if I'm wrong but some fosgate amps do same power at 1 ohm and 2 ohm. Alpine amps as well. -
Bl with what amp?
Hzd Skizzy replied to Vieceli's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
then you ordered the wrong voice coil config. You need dual 2 ohm to wire to 1 ohm on an amp. and Dual 1 ohm wires to 2 ohm on an amp. Find an amp that does power at 2 ohm or be fast and switch up your order. -
Hello, I'm in the market for a decent camcorder. I don't really know what to look for so I'm coming here to ask. Right now I have a Nikon D60 DSLR which i take with me everywhere. The DSLR doesn't take video so i plan to take this camcorder with me all the time as well. What I will be using it for: mainly random videos when I feel like it should be recorded lol. Things like recording my system in my truck, family events, and other random stuff so maybe you guys know a camera that has really decent sound quality and great picture quality. So I guess i'd be asking for 1080p HD? As far as budget i'd like to stay on or under 350$. I appreciate the help and time =) Thanks!
