Electrical powering a sundown 2500d
Hzd Skizzy replied to xxaderxx's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
You never know, those Cruzes may have the same setup as a Malibu or an Impala or any other Chevy product. Email/ call some places and see what you can find out. Sometimes one good alternator can be cheaper and perform better than a whole battery bank. -
Noone knows how they sound. Reason being, noone has them yet. We can guess that it won't sound like crap because of Fi's other woofers. They are awesome. Just give the Sub its recomended space, and tune it how you like it.

Do some research dude. There are so many variables to this that they can't all be figured over the internet. Buy them all and try them and see which one you like. We don't have an answer. Plus, most of these subs are so opposite. Fi has the description of all of their subs on their website. Do some reading. -
Don't know much about his head unit but from just an educated guess it's 2v pre-out which means he has to set it higher than he would with a 4v pre-out.

I will definatly do a full review on these but it will be around 2 - 3 weeks from now, because I am going out of town for a week or two. I can't wait to put them in. Only reason I bought so early is because when I bought them there were only 7 left. Really wanted them.

Hey, It's no problem! Thanks for the service! Hmm... Have you ever came home from a different day? You have us on the edge of our seat, doc! HAHA, you can tell I'm still excited just to get these in from my lack of knowing where I came from today. I came home from school/work.

Hello, I am building a box for a friend and I had my MDF all ready to cut, measured out panels and everything and he calls and tells me that he want an aeroported box. I have searched and read different things in this section and after figuring out slot is actually a lot more different than aero ported, I just don't get it. So, I have come for some box designing help. Dimensions: Depth: 16 Height: 16 Width: 40 It is for an Fi X 12. Was hoping for 2.0ft^3 at 32hz I really just need to know how many flared aeroports I would need with no port noise. Diameter and Length of the aeroport would be nice. Thanks in advanced, Jay

OOOH another mazda owner! I wish they would reply!

You mean SSD. Options explained there. Take the other link on that page for BP power. High QTS just means they are better for being in sealed enclosures. If you want ported, don't get it. If you want sealed, get it. If you want sealed now but ported later, don't get it.

Y u smacking ur head Probably at the math intelligence of the person who told you to turn the gain to 75%, and yours is at 3/4 already. But just by saying turning your gain up is terrible advice because that can lead to clipping and other problems if your not careful. What's your low pass and subsonic at? To be quite honest, my head unit does that with CD's but when i hook my Ipod up, the volume becomes normal. But, my head unit is stock. Try different forms to play your music. CD, AUX, USB...etc

Make sure you have an amp that does power at 2 ohms if your getting dual 2's.
-
Better power handling I heard.
-
No biggie. haha Only if they made an alt. that big.
-
I know you checked already but just have to make sure. Make sure there is no paint on your ground spot. Take off the ground sand it down until theres no paint then tighten it back up. Also, make sure you all your connections are okay. RCA's, speaker wire on the sub may of come loose at high volumes.

My mics broken but ill come play...It will just be awkward. 1v1 Quickscopes? Interventions Just read this lol P.S. Black Ops is garbage Yeah you and your FAL. Dammit.
-
You do math? lol I'm just kidding: area of a circle = r^2 x pi 2^2 x pi = 12.56637in squared 12.56637 x 15=188.495559in cubed Gonna be more than that because 4in is the internal diameter, correct? and the flare itself will take up some room too. Estimate. Heres what I came up with after some more doing and research. The whole aeroport will take up .10 cuft. 3.14x2x2x15/1728=.10xxxxx So the box's internal volume after wood displacement but before port and sub is 2.24-.10 for sub (fi x 12)-.10 for port=2.04 cuft after all displacements tuned at 32hz. The psp calc for a 2cuft box @ 32hz with a 4" port it would need to be like 14.879 so rounded up to 15''. I think I've done this right.

Sundown 1500D or 2000D for 18" XCON D2?
Hzd Skizzy replied to swagger_wagon468's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Quite honestly, I would just get the saz-1500dv.2 for 400$ Act quick though, because if i remember correctly the time of arrival was late November to middle December. Plus, buying new you can get a warranty on those amps. Obviously, you can't get warranty on used amps. I have also heard that XCON is still a fantastic woofer with smaller amount of power opposed to giving it it's RMS rating. Still, like you said, 1500 is not far off 1750 at all. More money spent on electrical for the saz-2000d as well. Just my 2 cents. -
Thanks guys. PSP calc said 2 cubic feet. 32 hz. Port diameter: 4. 1 port. Length or flared port would need to be 14.066 inches. Forgot one thing. I am going to buy this 4" flare and 18" tube and cut it to 15". How much discplacement would this take up in a box.

Hey man it's cool what your doing for your bro. Fi already has some cut sheets and they will fit in your car. take this link. BTL box cut sheet Take the link and scroll down to BTL 15.

No, dude a 15 will play the same as the 12 except the 15 will be louder.
-
Because they are made completely different. That's like saying why doesn't this tweeter play las low as my Subwoofer? That just doesn't happen. Like m5 stated. The 15 would be louder than the 12 due to cone area. the 15 would play the same notes as the 12 (if everything was the same except cone size) because they are designed to do the same thing. I also don't see why this thread has anything to do with Fi.

Go measure your trunk. It's not hard. 2$ tape measure 2 minutes of time Ability to read in inches. Then, you will know the size of your trunk. "I have the whole trunk to work with" is not enough information. Trunks come in all shapes and sizes.
-
Stefan is actually trying to help you. For him to help you, then answer his damn questions. Go find your trunk dimensions and state some real goals here. Example: Good: I want a true sound quality setup that reproduces every note exactly as recorded. No No: I want 2 be herd blockz away.
