A technical understanding of Polyfill
DevilDriver replied to DevilDriver's topic in Technical Info & How To's
Actually, as the enclosure size increases, the length of the port may decrease (if we assume that our port cross-sectional area and Fb stay the same). But yes, you've got the general idea. -
Personally, I really really do not recommend the RL-s in a ported enclosure. They are much better suited for sealed enclosures. If you prefer ported, you're better off using a few RL-p's.

I played football for a few years but just didn't have the time to continue the commitment. Practice every day after school was tough when I was doing soccer, basketball, and piano at the same time.
-
So I now know that Sean and Aaron have played soccer. How many HOP posters have played competitively before? I did for a few years until I hurt my back and won a couple provincial championships in the meanwhile.
-
I'll take 7. Hopefully I win the MAWF raffle, but if not, I'll have to open the wallet a bit.

The onset of sloppiness is usually indicative of a front end that needs a little upgrading. Glad you're digging it, though!

Phil's work seems to be quite impeccable. He posts occasionally on here and, more frequently, on CAF. I've never heard an issue with him.

The rough process involves inputting DC current, moving the cone assembly 1mm, measuring BL Force via a digital force gauge, and dividing by current, thus achieving Newtons/Ampere, as BL is often specified. The beauty is that I am in total control of the resolution of the BL curve, although there are certainly limits. It is a fairly direct process, which is nice.

As a rough generalization, effect should be used as a noun or an adjective while affect is typically a verb. Thus, Aaron would have that sort of effect on women.
-
Aaron: What are you looking to test? I should have the first stage of my testing setup in place, which will include thiele/small measurement, frequency response, inductance, and BL over stroke (similar to the manner in which Dumax measures it).

Please Welcome Incriminator to SSA forums

IA FTW. Just out of spite, pictures of the DP should be posted on here first instead of on caraudio.com. -
Today is definitely not a "working" kind of day. Seems like all of us in the HOP have a case of the grumps.
-
It would be just doing some install-type stuff for now. That's good enough until I'm done school, I think. It would be nice to use my brain like I should, though.
-
There's a pro audio position open locally that I think I might apply for. Maybe do something that I would actually enjoy?
-
Sounds like you guys really tied one on.
-
Does that mean IXL's, or MJ's? Or did you start whiling out and get an SDX15?

I need a media player that can...
DevilDriver replied to JimJ's topic in Computers / Electronics / Music / Games
Hey Jim, I was just taking a look at Foobar for a quick second. The default setting for album sorting (Preferences>Advanced) is good enough. On the upper right hand side (or lower right hand side), there is the order selector, where you can choose Default, Repeat (Playlist), Repeat (Track), Shuffle (Albums), Shuffle (Directories), Shuffle (Tracks). If you select Shuffle (Albums), it will play through one album, then move to a random album and play through that one, then move to another random album, etc. The only catch is that if you're listening to the last track of an album and press the Next button to skip to the next track, it will play the first song of the album that directly follows the one you're listening to. The Shuffle (Albums) function is still kind of linear and works best when you have a lot of albums in there. For example, when I have 5 or 6 albums in the playlist, it plays 2 or 3 albums in the order they are in the playlist rather than shuffling. However, when I load a bunch more, it gets pretty random. -
Yeah, it did sound weird once I read it after.

Today is going to be fun. A football game, food, and something to give me the munchies.
-
anyway to tell if a BTL has the dialy option versus the spl option?
DevilDriver replied to George's topic in General Fi
Check the spacing between the top plate and former if you can. I don't know the exact spacing difference between the daily and the SPL option; Scott would know that, though. -
I can't possibly imagine it doing poorly. It'll be interesting to see what Jim has to say about it.
-
I believe you have enough posts now to sell what you want. I think 20 or 25 is the requirement.

Mine fits nicely. I'll show you how ripped I am around midnight when I get home.
