    High Output Alternator Question

2004 camry v6.. I will state that I def. don't have the gain as high as it could go (never tried to go above 1/3 way up). I would have to guess I am putting out around 800-1000 watts though Regardless, my setup plays fine and I have listened extensively to it (10hr road trip at continuous full tilt, hours of playing at idle @ full tilt, etc..) and so far no issues...

    High Output Alternator Question

not to be rude... but you would not know the difference untill you start that topic of " my amp is blown" 1500@1ohm on factoy cell on a 220 peak alt = trouble IMO. how so? I have tested the voltage @ idle while playing and it only goes down to ~12v, haven't tested while driving, but I never get any dimming while driving.. Also my gain is @ around 1/3 max on the sub amp so maybe thats why?

    Help me Decide

maybe thats the way to go...would you recommend the ssa icons? Haven't had any personal experience with them, but all the SSA subs look very solid. what other subs were you considering?
  8. damn Fi is teasing me with free cooling still available...

If you listen to rap mostly, go ported. 2 10s would get very loud with proper volume/port area!

    15" Q True RMS

I have a 15" Q with full cooling and extra spider.... With all of that, I'm throwing roughly 1000 watts on it. As many stated, the q is a SQ sub, but that doesn't mean it can't get loud. Same with the BL, even tho it isn't a SQ sub that doesn't mean it can't get loud and sound great doing it. Every review on the BL that I've read praises its ability to get loud and how it sounds great doing it.. Judging by how much power you want to put on a single woofer, definitely save a little extra and get the BL.... you will be happier I was browsing the Fi website the other day , I think cooling is still free so you can save $40 on that still... Make sure you place it in a proper enclosure w/ enough volume and port area!

Fi, I don't think those pictures do your subs justice, more detailed/bigger pictures would be great if possible!

ssd 15 3cu ft. minimum size

what if you went Sub back/port back? I have a 15" in a camry trunk, fits fine... I realize you have a different car, but the new mazda 6s look like they have pretty big trunks.. Try not to do sub facing up, it will rattle the shit out of your rear deck...

  23. its THE weekend!

  24. So i won't be in town for a couple of weeks and my bro will be driving my car... Him being in HS i know he will try to impress his friends, I specifically told him not to go above 30/35 on the H/U..... didn't tell him about the gain b/c i know he will try to turn it up if I told him I turned it down for hiim... To protect my sub I turned the sub amp gain all the way down today, but can still get some bass at full tilt, where is this power coming from? H/U? I thought turning the gain all the way down will= no power? also is it okay to keep the gain all the way down and play at full tilt? no clipping issues right? I understand the amp wont be clipping but what about the H/U? (30/35 on the h/u with sub-level @+15) Just want to make sure my setup is still working when i get back... Thanks in advance!
