Looking for solid amp for a good price!
Bigbangtheory replied to tattooedkaos's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Nothing wrong with the BXI line from Hifonics, especially if you get the 09 year as they supposedly do rater power now, even the older ones are a little off, but for the price point, they are nice. Lanzar Opti line is very nice though. Would go that route if not the Hifonics. -
Welp, I am off for the moring. Peace Bassahaulic.

That is going to be your highs amp I take it? I know they are powerful and some use them on their SI subs, but most I would imagine use those on their highs. -

About the AQ and DD amps. lol I just can't get my self to look at one anymore. We clammed a Txi1508 and only got 1172 out of it. Well that is their uber budget line. What is that model claimed to do? 1500rms? If so, that is pretty bad. Most cases the Bxi line is off a couple hundered watts, but I still have yet to see rock solid evidence in this. It was supposed to be 1500 rms. o well As soon as I head back out to MS I will clamp a few Hifnoics and take pics. Please do. I would like to see what my 2608d would really do. I am hoping at least 700rms x2 at 2-ohms. It says 1700rms at 2-ohms x1, so hoping to at least see 1400rms or so. Updated my electrical pretty good as well. -

Yeah, I generally use my HU to play rear fill. Use my 4 channel and bridge it to do that wattage I said in the prior post. What amp you getting? The boner Sundown or AQ? -

There is something about the voltage as well. Honestly I am running a 4 channel Clarion amp that does 75rms x2 when bridged, which is plenty for my comps. However, I do still run rear fill off the deck.......... Oh well the kiddies will have to deal with the lame sound, lol! -

I have used 8 of their amps, speaking about Maxxsonics......which is Hifonics, Crunch, MBQuart, Autotek and all have done well as budget amps. The ground pounders from Crunch sell very well and no complaints. Hifonics gets a bad rap due to them being overrated, which the newer line isn't. They actually do rated power. They took all the jazz out and replaced it with better internal parts. I got the 08 one. Good thing I stepped it up in power, lol! Not sure what you ment about I always told you America. -

A lot of problems with Pioneers is the pitco fuse, which I have had happen in my 880. However I bought the deck used and not sure if I blew it or the other guy did. Ended up selling it and the guy sent it in to get fixed and hasn't had a problem since. I loved my 880 besides that. Wish I still had it, but rough times happened, so I got rid of it. -

Has something to do with voltage IIRC. Juan would know more about it though. Honestly not sure, I just remember reading something like that in one of his posts over at ca.com. -

Someone did it over at ca.com..........or should say his friend showed him, but never had pic's to prove it, however he swears up and down it won't do rated power.....which he is probably right as I have heard from more than a few they are overrated. Not sure on the RMS of a level4, but the amp in question would be fine for a sub 1300rms or so. I ended up getting a 2608d Bxi Hifonics amp as I have had many other Maxxsonic products and all have suited me very well. I have had every line in the Autotek line and had a MB Quart amp do well too. Never had one problem with getting loud or having a problem with one of their amps. Good budget amps that will get you loud for cheap as long as you know how to install..........as install is the key. -

Can't go wrong with the Kenwood. I still rather recommend the JVC 7500 and can be had dirt cheap of ebay. Picked mine up for 120, lol! Was a 400 dollar deck MSRP. That or the 8500, which has a DC converter and if you go through Sonic, you can get the iPod adaptor with it for under 200 smacks, and has active capabilities. -

Hows come you don't use the same name over at ca.com mang? Indeed, it is a sleeper. Surprised more people don't use them. Seems the only difference between the 8500 and 7500, which I have is the active capabilities, the DC converter and you get 9eq to my 7. I just couldn't justify all that, when I got mine for 120 brand new and couldn't find an 8500 for under 170 anywhere. Enjoy.........again, lol! -
Whats the best sounding HU in your opinion??
Bigbangtheory replied to phresh's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Best sound with a ton of tunning options IMO is the Pioneer 880-PRS. I wish I never got rid of mine. Essentially the 800-PRS is the samething, just newer if I am not mistaken. -
Recone for a 12" Fi Q. I talked to Nick, just need price.

Just wondering how much a recone for a 12 Q d2 would be? Motor is fine and just has a ripped surround. I would send pic's, but the one good camera I did have is being a pain. Zip is 44410 if that helps any. Thanks for any help. Basically no time frame, but I would to try and get this rolling sometime in the near future. Thanks Jesse. -
Hopefully the results are positive. Good luck and I know how you feel as I have stomach problems myself, but kinda opposite of what you have.

x2 on watching where you play your system loud at. I learned my lesson the hard way years ago when I was competing at local shows. Everyone knew my name and my car. Well after I put the rims on it, I had it maybe a month with the new subs in there and it was gone, everything. Just like that. Didn't see a dime of it because my dumb ass didn't want to pay 200 smacks a monty because of my record. So kept it under a 100 smacks a month just for liabilty and wish I would have paid the extra 100 to fully cover me. I seldom play my system, if I do I have my windows up when it is full tilt or on the open road. I am buying sound deadener for a reason beyond trying to quiet it down inside. Want it as quite as possible. To the OP, not gonna hate on your ride, but IMO it looked 100% better lowered. I was like dam, that is a nice Lincoln. I will now shut up and tell you do your thing as it is your car and have fun with it. Just not something I would do now or when I was young. Hell I was always the one laughing at the kids that had their tires/rims 10ft outside the wheel well. You seen where that fade went.
