maybe i need to get some then Mash Here I will look through my email, but I think they sent me a promo code to save 10% on the next purchase. Good thing too because i have nowhere left to put them. lol For some reason the slim ballast kits are off of the site? I hope they come back. The Raptor kits should also be good though. The ballast are just a bit larger. I have heard they can cause radio static/interference though because they are analog and not full digital like the slims.

maybe i need to get some then I'd definitely give em a try. Very cheap and they seem to be much better made than all those cheapo ebay kits.

haha, never heard of that. are they cheap? wait... is that even hids? lol

I can almost bet it's more likely to fall apart the way it is now. Ever seen a screw split MDF when it isn't predrilled? -
Well they arent gonna be adding an Aeroport, and my router wouldnt plunge deep enough after the box has the flush mount sheet added to it, it it did I would just order as a sealed box, Im sure an extra 4" hole isnt gonna count as a ported box price, maybe a few bucks but not much....... I guess I could say I want a ported box with a 4" hole tuned to 62Hz, that would be what it would be tuned to with just the wood Edit: I just worded it this way since from other posts I have read, when they do Aeroports they tend to not do port bends, which this box would need for my needed tuning. Nah man i was just playing. I highly doubt he'll charge you extra for a 4" hole in the box, but idk. lol

Sealed 12" Icon or Ported 10" Icon?
xAndrew225x replied to bmr4life's topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
10" in an optimal box will kill a 12" in a box too small Thanks for the quick reply. I'm still not sure I could even fit the 12" small ported through the trunk opening. Cardboard mock-up still leaves me unsure. Going with the 10" will make my life a lot easier anyway. I'd still be able to get to my spare without to much trouble. Yeah I'd do that. It's your best bet IMO. -

Deep bass, SPL, Rap. Ported. -
Um if a 4" hole is cut into a box I doubt you could still call it sealed.

Do you have 45's in the corners of the port? That's just a small thing that could help a bit.

Installing Head Unit for 2002 Tahoe
xAndrew225x replied to rodneydude23's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Just splice the factory harness? No horrible idea, never do this. EVER. What brand wiring kit do you have? lol, I'm just saying it could work. I don't prefer it. -

Not sure if all vehicles with OnStar HAVE to have that special harness but as far as I know you should be able to find a harness or splice and wire the factory harness that should keep you from having to buy the expensive one. However you will most probably lose your OnStar... edit: A buddy of mine had the same problem so he had to use like a Saturn harness or something to bypass the OnStar. Just needed to run an ignition wire. -

Will this work if I do this to my port?
xAndrew225x replied to Davo2378's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
They don't have to be inaccurate if the people who create them think of such things. The calc sheet I use takes, sub, port and port wall displacements into the calculation and with a little ingenuitive figuring anything else such as bracing, plexi, etc. can be added as well. It's not impossible, just takes more time to include. As far as the OP's design is concerned, I completely agree with Andrew on this. If you think it's fine run with it. It's not enough port area for my tastes either, however I also understand that sometimes a compromise has to be made to get things to work/fit/cooperate in these screwy environments that are our vehicles. I would go through it a few more times, take extra measurements, whatever it takes and be completely satisfied with the theoretical results before making the first cut though, if I were you. When I said calcs, I meant 'calculations' not as in the calculators themselves. My bad lol If he would insert the bracing and woofer displacement into the calculator itself it would give him a much more accurate tuning and size calculation than what it's telling him at the moment. -

Why ask us when you say you think it's fine? Those calcs won't be accurate as bromo said because you're forgetting the displacements. Also the port is too small and will sound like fart.
