Shit, I was talkin about the nasty rattles lol. And congrats man. I got to ride in a Firehawk once and saw a GMMG 490hp (I think) at a show. Imma own a nice Trans-Am one day.

Was just about to ask A4 or M6? I LOOOOOOOVE me some F bodies. 99 WS6 was the first car I ever loved. I do have a few questions though, related to audio: How will you go about deadening since most of the roof is...well...glass...? Are you gonna just forget about ever using the T tops? And lastly...Vroom vrooom AND Boom boom? I always wondered how that would work. EDIT: I meant loud exhaust and music. Incase that isn't clear lol.

If a sub hit full excursion at the power levels that it sees during a burp it would go kablammo? ...I mean unless of course you burp at the same power you play music at.

Bromo is correct. Epsilon owns Power Akoustik, Soundstream, and Precision Power. Look em up. -
Amp Cooling Problems

I think he's walled. -
i just paid $175 for this one :/ it sounds good and loud. but i know 2 15's will have a better low end and the initial hit of a beat will be harder. thats what im looking for. For the LAST time thinking a fifteen will have better low end is not correct. The box will play a large part in how low the sub will play. Also if by "the initial hit of a beat will be harder" means louder, then yes two fifteens will be louder than one twelve if they are setup properly. Wellllll....as misinformed as he may be, when you learn from experience you discover things and make rules for yourself. Say you have a setup with a 12. Switch to a 15 (on the same amp/power) and 8 times out of 10 it'll be louder. The 15 will sound different, (due to more factors than it simply BEING a 15, diggity dur. Hell you can aim the box in a different direction and it will sound different.) so yeah the size does change the sound, mainly the output due to displacement, which is where he's getting the "better low end" from. The box is more important yeah, but a 12 in an optimal box will NEVER be as loud as a 15 in an optimal box off of the same power. Common sense. To Lantz, get someone to design you a good box and build it. It might make a world of difference for minimal cost. Then when that isn't enough buy another and make a matching box. Forget the 15's, more power and cone will make you happy

Increasing the tuning of the box isn't really going to help you. You need to get a bigger alternator. Think of it this way. Your alternator is a water pump. The battery is a jug. The amp is little thirsty children... If the jug keeps running empty and the children get upset, you can get a bigger jug that'll hold more water, but what you really need is a stronger water pump to keep the jug full. So get a new alternator! That's the only thing that will help you.

Sundown Audio vs Hifonics
An-i-no replied to Angelboy863's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
You're just guessing on your numbers. There is no way to tell what kind of power was really being sent to your sub(s) on either of the amps. Just because it's rated at 1000 doesn't mean you're seeing that number at any time while using the amp. Doesn't everybody guess on their numbers? And it couldn't've been a huge difference in power (or nowhere near the double power/3db point) and I don't think he changed woofers so the amps were likely seeing similar impedance and voltage? -
I know AQ is similar to DD so they may be similar in output, but I've never heard a BTL. They're not very efficient though Idk if they could compete with a BTL though. Maybe a bl.

Guy above is pretty on point. But if you like eyeball shaking throat tickling bass go for it. Theyre made to play way below tuning so dont tune too low. They can actually peak below tuning sometimes. I just think its an oddball sub that people give a bad rep cuz "They sound bad."
-
It rained the other day. Shit was amazing.
-
Sounding "fine" to you does not mean they sound good... Lol but it doesn't mean they sound bad either. I'd rather take the word of someone who owned and listened to them every day than someone who maybe heard them once. Now, with that said I have heard a pair of HDC 15's and they have a VERY distinct sound. It's not a bad sound but if you're used to sq subs or subs that sound very neutral (Take my SA-12's for example) then they will sound funny to you. The best way I can describe it is FORCEFUL. They make a very violent bass lol, but it is at the sacrifice at some sq. They're more a close up your breathing passages and make your lungs feel funny type of sub.

I'm number crunching and having issues with depth. I know spacers is the "duh" option. Mids can't be inverted/wired out of phase right? All the sound would go into the door then huh? Why does it work for subs but not higher freqs? I'm havin a dumbass attack and need someone to explain this to me lol
-
Lol you guys have better reasoning than I do. I'm just looking for a reason not to try it lol.
-
"Huh?" Audio.... lol
-
Oh wow lol. That's kinda awesome
-
90 Percent install right?...
-
Who me? I was referring to the god-awful equipment in the quality install. I know you can't hear a damn thing through a camera mic. If you're talking about the midbasses comment, I think that was more because of the music being played.

I've been to the NASA Hq in Houston on a school field trip. It's AMAZING. I wish I had a digicam then. All the pics I took are developed....maybe I'll take pics if anyone is interested. (Pics OF Pics that is lol)
-
Anybody know wtf those things left of the amp are? Lol they look like parts of the boxes the subs came im...
-
Someone put a lot of time and care into it though, which is the real shame...or maybe the good park idk
-
Aside from impedance issues you should be louder. That's with a solid box and install of course.
-
If its the best you've ever heard and you built it, paid for it, and set it up? That's a Damn good feeling. I don't see how ppl can have any aversion to that.
