Did you even read your own thread? You used the wrong wood. That box doesn't have a chance. And jesus christ.. tell your friends to grow some balls. Its a truck. Its supposed to get fudgeed up. Wrong wood is debatable. As long as the cuts were good and it is secured at the joints correctly for a good seal, I highly doubt much difference can be heard between MDF and small particle board. At least it isn't ugly OSB or something. Someone said the opening for the port internally wasn't big enough. It looks to me that the opening is just as wide inside as the mouth on the outside. Is there a reason to have it wider than the mouth? Serious question.

Doooeeeeet! lol Actually IMO 2x 12s is unnecessary.

OERadio.com line of factory replacement headunits

I would definitely buy depending on cost and features. I like Ramos wish list lol. -
Generic logo (company name only) on a boob dust cap. I am not to sure on differences between older gens but do know they used a logo saying magnum and dust cap was inverted. I know first gen 12s used a claw basket which is teh sexay. Here is an example of an older gen.

JL Audio Contacts Elemental Designs Over Patent Infringement Concerns
IamDeMan replied to Audio Junkies's topic in General Audio
The designs are different enough not to warrant any concern. They dont even use the same mouiting design so no big deal. This is like windows suing lindows. Its a big dog trying to kick a little dog in the nuts. I don't like ED, but this SHOULDN'T go any further IMO. -

The Qs may nopt be specificaly built for IB, but they are not far off and they will cutomize them with IB in mind if you tell them. I would get those if you can't wait for the new 18 coming out by Mach5. The new Mach5 18 should be nice for this application. The MJ-18s fs is too high for my liking in an IB. Many have been happy with its performance though.

Lots of space in teh back so they can sex you up to determine your worth. Seriously though, you need to spend your own money, before money is just thrown at you This and a lot of time.

Ascendant Audio now at SSA!

I was really hoping that this post would bring forth some new info on them as well. TEASE! -
I would like to do silm 3-way towers with side firing subs, but I dont think I have space for them at the moment. Plus I only have a single MAW-12 instead of a pair for a true 3 way. I would like to do in my next set up for my major HA downstairs, doing 2 to 4 MLI's in the same tower, then my MJ-18 get a buddy and put them in a stupid large box. I could change the future of my RL-i 8's future and make it the sub for this install, but the MAW-12 matches up well because of the dual 4 coils and added surface advantage. But for now this is getting me back into doing a HA speaker, because I have not done one in years. The last one I did was actually using a 2-way folded horn set up in undergrad. IT way my buddies in college, using an old RF 6.5" and Morel silk dome in large FH box. Sounded awesome, no need for a sub what so ever. So this is just a basic set up for a sweet little set of 2-ways with the single sub. The IX-18(make it 2-4) and and an IB manifold for downstair HA 'nuff said.

I just want to sex those cones up. it would be a sin to cover those with a grill.
-
Ack you siad bookshelf style. I was thinking 3 way rock blockers. You are using the 12" as a dedicated sub then I take it. In that cae I would still save scrilla and use the dayton 1 1/8" silk and get the dayton 2.5k 2-way XO. http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cf...tnumber=260-142 I am not die hard DIY when it comes to things like garage and bedroom speakers. Who the hell needs to be that critical with the XO in these situations? Then again, the main speakers for my HT are line arrays with cheap mids, so I may not be the best to take advice from lol. I took a lesson in efficiency on my first home audio project. I will more than likely move them to the back patio though and build a suitable set of HT speakers.
-
If this isn't meant to be a very critical set then get a dayton tweeter and then their 3-way crossover that best matches and be done with it. I personally like the sound of more silks than alloys so I would go with http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshowdetl.c...tnumber=275-070 Goes low as well. XO points as low as 1800 This should help if you decide to design and build your own XO. Me personally for a bedroom, I'd just slap a pre-made XO and be done. http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cf...tnumber=260-150 Of course the woofer plays to high for my liking, but it works good enough.

Enclosure finish... anyone know what this is?
IamDeMan replied to Audio Junkies's topic in Home Audio
My IB does the trick nicely. Even with the cheap drivers I chose. I went cheap the first time around to see if I would like IB. I am seriously contemplating some Qs to replace it, but am also interest in the new MJ-18 coming out. http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...c=6035&st=0
